My preferences
I would most like to keep it late medieval I am a bit of a traditionalist and would like to keep it fairly authentic.

_____ On the serious side, I'm just going to reiterate what I said in ooc about doing PA dnd style. I think PA modern style is much, much cooler, but because Samuelsan is such a good sport, I think dnd PA would be fine. My head is spinning with ideas, so I guess I'll just spit. Magic is near obsolete. Only a couple places of power exist. Spelled, functioning items are worth dying over (and is often the case). Spells from scrolls or books don't work, or work in reverse. Those who lived on magic are dying out, killed easily for what little arcane items/knowledge they possess. Magical creatures are dying or mutating. Gods are silent. Every last one of them, or perhaps all the good ones and only the evil are in power. Maybe the apocalypse came about via a war of the Gods? No clerics, no divine magic... There are spirits, however. With all that death, of course there are spirits. One of them is the spirit of Herme, who calls to his people, collects them and bestows them with gifts to reright the balance. Instead of mages, there are spirit mages...So a character can still be a cleric, but he/she gathers her magic from spirits instead of Gods. Many races are extinct. Money and trade are obsolete. Geography has changed and must be rediscovered. Life all around is mutating, dying, and not many places are habitable. Weather is extreme. In the city of Nottingham, built upon the ashes of [city], a man has risen to do evil's bidding. He exploits and abuses his citizens, tracks and kills those who have "spirit power". There is no escape. Since the Shift, the surrounding lands have become untravelable. Other civilizations are too busy with their own regrouping to help, or maybe it just isn't noticed. But there is hope. A few escape the spirit purge and settle deep in the adjacent forests beneath Herme's protection. Slowly, methodically, they are rescuing spirit gifted, stealing treasure, feeding poor... _____________ Pre-apologies to Axeman if that steps on your toes. |

Ouch!@! Apologies accepted, of course.

Ooo Goodie! You know I'll be all over that like peanut butter on a mouth roof!

It’s raining ash again. That usually means that somewhere on the continent another gap in the crust has opened up and the planet’s hot core is spilling out. It happens more often these days, probably once a month or so. I wonder if the Earth is dying. Everything else did. When the Aliens came.
__________________Phuckers. We never even saw them coming. Well, my grandfather never saw them coming. They decimated the planets with some kind of bombs, then saturated the atmosphere with a virus that was meant to make us ‘malleable’. Too bad for them it backfired. Sure, some people became zombies. But for others it flipped a switch in their minds, released their ultimate potential or some such sh!t. But in the end the Aliens still won out. Governments collapsed right away, ant the population was so damaged that resistance was literally futile. The aliens sit up there in their little space ships and have pawns in place down here to control the working forces. See, the aliens need us: they need our resources. Metals, ore, food, trees. They need it all. But we are expected to do it without machinery or electricity. But some of us can do it with our minds. It’s like magic. Or what I think of as magic anyway. Some can control the winds or fire, others can control animals. Animals: there’s another thing that changed. In the seventy-odd years since they came here, lots of things have changed. Civilization goes downhill, but it has been replaced with something… else. Anyway, there are a few of us that fight against them, refusing to bring in crops or go out hunting. We’re starting to cause quite the fuss. I’m not sure what our next step is, but it needs to be assertive. ‘Cause last night I saw something I’ve never seen before: there was a space ship landing in Nottin’ Ham… I think we have their attention. |

I picked authentic-only. The others would all be fun, but they wouldn't be Robin Hood.

Finally home and just in time to get to work
__________________![]() I picked "Whatever". I personally would prefer authentic for a Robin Hood adventure because otherwise it would not be Robin Hood (didn't someone already say that )I do like the PA concept that is being tossed around and since we are so far away from a true Robin Hood adventure with that I think it would work. . |
