Bordic Thrumhammer

Appearance:

Benden was just like any other dwarf you might happen to pass on the side of the road. He was short and stocky with the traditional thick beard that most of the dwarven men…and some of the more beautiful women….had. Nothing about his looks distinguished him in anyway which suit him just fine. He wears a lighter more flexible armor, banded, then most of his friends who liked some kind of plate armor. He had found that the more you look like some kind of lord (armor is not cheap!) the more of a target you became. Being all important looking was not what he was after. He has his job to do and if wearing beat-up armor got it done better then shiny “Shoot me in the back” armor, the better it was. At his side was his trusty warhammer that had many purposes. He could crack the skull of a goblin in the morning and fix the dents in his armor in the evening. It was his “all purpose” tool so to speak.


Character History:

Ibis is a long-legged "wading bird[s] of warm regions having long slender down-curved bills". It was sacred in ancient Egypt. His symbols are either the head of an ibis (in profile, showing down-curved bill, one eye, and neck feathers), or a full, stick-version of the bird.

Followers of Thoth receive granted powers at various (not all) levels. At first level, you are granted the ability to detect lie (always active, normal saves apply).

Backstory: Your superior (a dwarf of your sect, feel free to name him) came to you with orders from his superior (a human of the greater faith, and name him as well) who is good friends with The Fiedlersons (Krishana's parents).

Krishana was born and raised in the Free City of Greyhawk. She was fated into a family of wealth and high social status (upwards near royalty). Her family had great political power and respect among most citizens of the city. With this power and wealth however, came corruption and criminal activity. The Fiedlerson family's reputation remained untarnished only because the few people that knew of the dealings and misdeeds of the higher status family members, were smart enough to never expose the truth for fear of repercussions.
She is Fiedlerson to the core, she holds the features of her father's mother in her face and body almost to a tee. Anyone that knows the Fiedlerson family, knows at a glance that Krishana shares their ranks. One key difference between her and the rest of her family however, is her divine interest in Heironeous, the god of law, good, and valor. The majority of her family has followed the teachings of Pelor, but Krishana never saw Pelor as noble nor honorable enough for her liking; not to the point of disrespect however - always seeing a worshiper of Pelor as an ally.

Several months ago, Krishana was last dispatched to investigate the latest in a rash of goblin attacks on small homes in the outskirts of the Free City of Greyhawk. She was never heard from again. These goblin attacks have intensified of late, and steps have been taken officially to redress them. However, your superior's superior thought the warrior castes and warrior/priests of other faiths were not getting anywhere and discussed it with your superior in a casual manner. Your superior thought it was a good quest for you -- to apply a more "knowledgeable" approach instead of a purely "brute" one.

Apparently, Krishana's parents have given up hope for their daughter, becoming bitter about Heironeous and claiming he led her from the right path of Pelor. They won't have anything to do with Heironeous's followers. Your superior's superior has taken it upon himself to bring peace to the Fiedlersons (which means, ultimately, it's upon you).
You are tasked to: 1) find out what happened to Krishana; and 2) find out what's behind the increase in goblin activity. find out what's behind the increase in goblin activity.

Several months of investigating later, it's one year after her disappearance, and you've been getting closer all the time...[/SECRET]
