Online System Reference Document (the rules) Simply the best Dungeons & Dragons SRD out there. Elegant, thoroughly hyperlinked (the old world craftsman's way...by hand!), comprehensive and easy to use.

Downloadable, freeware Erasersoft makes an awfully handy Battle Manager, downloadable for OSX. Very clean and professional. Useful for players and DMs both. Be sure and check out the Spells Project and contribute what you can.

Downloadable, free until 5th level RPGXplorer offers a comprehensive character generator/manager for Windows. Download it and use it all you like 'till 5th level; going beyond 5th, you'll need to contribute. Another very smooth program.

Massive portal of relevant links I take a dim view of most portal sites: hundreds of spammy links to everything from ant farms to zodiac bracelets. But Effie Rover's RPG Gateway has really got it right. They sort online resources, the way Yahoo! used to do, into enough categories for you to find all kinds of interesting and relevant stuff. There's a marked emphasis on fantasy literature and art, which suits our style of play well. Next time you've a few hours to burn...check these guys out.

fantasy lit resource & news For current news on your favorite fantasy authors and their worlds, check out fantasy-fan.org. I especially like this site because it complements our own emphasis on quality writing experiences. Updates come frequently and there are forums where you can discuss with like-minded folks.
