World of Atladea
These are the major provinces of Atladea along with their most important cities and features. Antheos: This is the major province of the humans. Though humans can be found throughout Atladea, they are most abundant here. The capital city of Antheos goes by the name, Antheos City, and is the largest city on the continent. The port city of Floresica is Antheos' biggest port. The western border of Antheos consists of the Black Mountains. While not the tallest in Atladea they are heavily forested and home to many dangerous things, making them very dangerous. The Pryus River runs from the Black Mountains, across Antheos, through the capital, before finally flowing into the Sea of Tasmorias at Floresica. Antheos also has a port on Lake Ebis, helping with trade and fishing. Salurius: This is the major province of the elves. The elves, unlike the humans, are almost exclusively found here, though when they are sighted elsewhere they are treated well. The capital city of Salurius goes by the name, Salurius City. Most of the province of Salurius is covered by the thick Salurian Forest. This forest is very magical and beings of all types call it home. It's said that anyone other than an elf trying to find their way through the forest will quickly become helplessly lost. Salurius also has a border on Lake Ebis. Tharis: This is the major province of the dwarves. Like the elves, the dwarves are almost exclusively found here, though when they are sighted elsewhere they are treated well. The captial city of Tharis goes by the name, Tharis City. Most of the province of Tharis is dominated by the Tharis Mountains. These mountains tower over the land, the tallest being over 4 miles high, with many more being close to this height. Snow covers the tops year round. The land below the mountains is flat and barren right up to the border of Lake Ebis. Estion: This province is a mixed province. Many races can be found here. It started out as a small colony, and has grown from there. The cities and population is no where near as big as the other provinces. There is no capital of Estion. Each city polices itself. Estion holds the Fear Forest, which is named after an ancient story. It is somewhat of a misnomer as compared to the Slaurian Forest and the forests of the Black Mountains, it is relatively safe. Caspacon: This province is another mixed land, though with a larger number of halflings than anywhere else. Even though they aren't many in number, Halflings somehow can be found every where in Atladea, and in seemingly too great of numbers. The capital of Caspacon is Judarion. Caspacon also holds Tasmorias, the largest port in Atladea. This is the second largest city after Antheos. The majority of the province is dominated by the Caspacon Plains. The plains are filled with rolling hills and tall grasses. A few groves of small trees can be found, but it's mostly clear for miles. Arcantis: This province is known as a safe haven for theives and other seedy characters. Nobody bothers with them because the island is very inhospitable. Most of the land is rugged mountains and an active volcano gives the air a constant grey haze. But, the volcano does provide magnificent soil, and a few adventurous individuals have made their living there, trying to stay away from the rough crowd. Romosus: This province has only just been discovered and not much is known. Lake Ebis: This is more of an inland sea than a lake. Fed from the cold Galona River, Lake Ebis sits between the border of the Human, Elven and Dwarven lands and they share it equally. It's not uncommon to see an elven vessel fishing alongside a human ship. Seas: The Great Sea: Off the western coast of Salurius. Cold, calm waters. Ibia Sea: Off the northern coast of Tharis. Very cold, many icebergs. Virigus Sea: Off the eastern coast of Estion and Caspacon. Cold in the north and warmer in the south. Prone to violent storms. Sea of Tasmorias: Off the southern coast of Antheos and Caspacon. Warm calm waters. Black Sea: Off the western coast of Antheos. Warm waters. Very fast currents cause many ship wrecks. |
