The journal

I've heard that merchant's got himself some sort of powerful ring. I'll have to nab it, might fetch a nice price to that old wizard to the
west.

I think the merchant suspects I plan to steal his ring and has hired some guards to protect it and himself....I have ways around that

I've stolen that fool merchant's ring in brutvahld, unfortunately I've got to lay low in this damnedable lodge for the winter.
At least I can make some more coin hunting these wretched lions. The six poachers I've teamed up with dont know who I am, but
that suites me fine.

We've stopped hunting for now. two of the men, gyldne and luckden, have disappeared in the forest while we were hunting. just gone.



The winter grows harsh, I think without this damned ring to keep me warm I'd have frozen to death now.

we haven't enough food for the week. We need to go hunting again today, nobody is looking forward to it.

Weve been attacked! A terrible, snow scourged monster has attacked us and killed another man. Me and the two others have barricaded the walls
and door, alas, I have been bitten.

The beast waits for us outside. We have learned that to keep him at bay we must keep fire constantly going, food is running low and I think
this wound is infected.

The other men are plotting to kill me! to take my ring! I'll just have to get the jump on them! yes, the jump!

The others dead.....just me...they deserved it... beast gone now....

After that, the rest of the pages of the journal repeat over and over "I hunger I hunger I hunger..."

the battered pages are unbound, wrapped in hemp cord
the ink is blue in color and seems to be made of a plant extract
The book has no clasp or lock
the book is written primarily in gnomish.
the book is 5 inches by 5 inches and It could easily fit in a small pocket.

The book has the words "hello, friend, enemy, danger, stay, follow, magic" translated into

Undercommon, Elvish, Dwarvish, Common, Gnomish, Giant, Orc and goblin though doesn't give much of a hint in the way of pronunciation.
