"You and your master can clean these paths with your tongues." She says, spitting on the ground before her. She wasn't going to give them the pleasure of her surrender. She looked around her as best she could, but could see no way of retaliating against them. Maybe, though, she could... yes, that would do perfectly. She started singing a song gently, about a powerful giant who moved rocks up a mountain, eventually causing great landslides. Meanwhile, Eranna was using magic to envision a hand plucking up a stone from the path, and hurtling it at the head of the guard who was in possession of the whip. Merian nodded to the elf who had helped her. It is good to see that the grip of someone who would teach evil is not as strong as I had thought. I thank you for your help.
__________________But you both must listen. I have studied with the priestesses of Meghwyn, learning the ancient art of healing. I know her most intimate stories, of her workings with the other gods, and of her relationship with Gaeshal. Gaeshal is not the sort of person who would partake in this type of debauchery. No, this temple of machinations is the work of some evil deity looking for revenge, souls, I don't know what. But Gaeshal would never do a thing like this. He is a god of neutrality, viewing both sides of a conflict before giving his say on the situation. His responsibilities lie in ferrying the dead to the underworld, not in asking for souls, as this god obviously does. So tell me, who was it that came to you? What did they look like? Was it a dream? Or did someone in physical form instruct you to become iconoclasts and desecrate the temple of Megwhyn thusly? Last edited by Kiiz; 09-11-2010 at 11:02 PM. |

Soren leaps to his feet and backpedals. Reaching the statues of Meghwyn and Ahasuerus, he siezes a greataxe that had been hidden behind Meghwyn's shield. Stepping forward, he said, "Goonbtamm ek Meneeg, mepa ootg metsan pa; mdeb pa gda kootsen ek eeeaen snaoog bnoogd oosooootmg gdama aetnalooatsanm!" With that, a supernatural darkness fell around the human like a fog, laying heavy on the ground and spreading outwards.
A chilling laugh comes from within the center of the darkness. "Now, young warrior of Meghwyn, you understand. Unfortunately, you won't have a chance to inform anyone else. Neither will you, Thalaron. Nay, do not attempt to flee, for I will strike you down before you reach the door. Now, young warrior, come show me the power of your goddess; she cannot avail you here. This place is mine." Outside the Temple, the others hear the foul tongue and cringe. Last edited by Cendar; 09-27-2010 at 10:15 AM. |

Completely unnerved by what has just taken place, Nikolai is at first unsure of how to proceed. One minute Merian was there in front of him, and then the darkness rolled over her. Now everything just beyond the door was shrouded and dim. Whatever was going on with that voice, it had the rogue a little shaken.
His hands shook as he turned away from the doorway and kept his back against the wall. He tried to listen for any noise coming from within, but his thoughts were too loud for him to pay attention to anything else. What is going on?!? There's no way that just happened. O by the gods, what have I gotten myself into this time? Magical darkness... I'm in over my head, who knows what else he can pull out then. Ok, I have to put some distance between me and that... thing. Acting purely defensive, Nikolai lept back away from the doorway and moved backward keeping his eyes on the doorway as he did so. After putting a good fifteen feet between him and the dark interior, Nikolai brought his bow to bear and readied himself for anything coming out of that dark abyss. Dhoim glared at the guy for a second. “Wait one second.” His sword whipped out of its sheath and he advanced on the bard who had used magic. He grabbed her by the hair and yanked her head towards him. He then looked at the guard with clear meaning of step back in his eyes. The elf then leaned forward and whispered in the woman’s ear.
__________________He released her head with an abrupt shove. He then turned to the other guard, “get your mace out. You’ve caught a feisty one in there, I’m not inclined to take any chances.” Holding the human bard by the arm he moved her over to the shed and gestured for the guard to open it. Once there was an opening he planned to shove the bard in, a simple rule was that you do not go into a room with a hostage who is not friendly. Last edited by Adorios; 10-01-2010 at 01:34 AM. |
