Heryld | HP: 33/33 | AC/Fort/Ref/Will: 15/13/15/17

Heryld was never too good to follow plans to the letter. He always liked to add a little touch of improvisation. When he saw that some goblins gathered around him, the wizard could not resist. He knew the exact spell to dispatch easily these nuisances. The wizard proceeded to complete his spell by doing the complex movements and intoning the required arcane words for the spell to function. A loud thunder boomed and echoes lingered in the surrounding area. Both goblins were pushed away by the impact of the spell. And both goblins did not get up after being hit by Heryld's magical assault, their distorted bodies still jerking with spasms. Not losing a second, Heryld then jumped through the feywild to teleport himself next to Arundael, on top of the tower.

Dway'le:39/39; Ac/Fort/Ref/Will:19/14/15/16

Dway'le anger rose when the bugbear leader exhorted his lesser kin to battle. The elf let loose a battle cry as the big monster came for him while deflecting a goblin's weak attack with a slash of his axe. Turning to face the bugbear, the elf sidestepped just in time to avoid a deadly hit from its morningstar.

Insulted by the half-bear half-goblin creature's talk, Dway'le told himself he'd make quick work of the monster."I assure you, vermin, you will die today with your belly empty," Dway'le said. "Fighting for your demoniac master will be the last thing you do in this world," he added. Dway'le then rushed to the creature's flank and sank his axe in the monster's ribcage.

Arundael | HP: 40/40 | AC/Fort/Ref/Will: 20/14/16/16

Arundael took the time to ponder his next action. He was not well positioned on the battlefield. He either could join the others on the ground to help them against the huge bugbear. But there was also the goblin sharpshooter on the other tower. And the eladrin knew it would be to long to reach the greenskin by traditionnal means. It was not a good idea to expose himself while running towards the creature.

Taking a deep breath, the swordmage ran as fast as he could towards the edge of his tower. At the last possible moment, Arundael broke is run by jumping as far as he could. However, because of the ledges of the towers, Arundael knew he had to land vertically on the other tower. His jump transformed into a pirouette and the swordmage's body twirled in the air. Arundael's gambit was extremely risky, but his boldness paid out, as the eladrin landed on the other tower, right next to the speechless, incredulous and doomed creature.

Arundael barely had landed that he was already striking at the goblin with his flaming blade. Unfortunately for the youngest son of lord Uthwe, the surprised goblin still managed to dodge the swordmage's assault.

Marl:30/40; Ac/Fort/Ref/Will:18/15/14/16

Looking at the Eladrins progress, Marl was caught by surprise as two grinning goblins jumped over a barricade to eagerly sink their rusty kitchen knives between the joints of his armor. "Buggers," he muttered under his breath. Turning around to face the goblin behind him, he realized the vicious greenskin had managed to climb on his back. With a backward slam of his shield, the half-elf dislodged it and sent it crashing face-first on the ground. Invoking a new spell, he let it out in a fierce war cry that echoed as a thunderbolt in the encampment.

Yelping in pain, two goblins fell to the ground with blood dripping from their damaged ear-drums as the sonic spell resonated violently in their heads.

The adventurers are not overly concerned by the swarming goblins and they react quickly to the minor threat posed by the clumsy beasts. With a few deft arcane moves, most of the small creatures are rendered useless. With a cocky grin and a nod towards Marl, Heryld teleports to the top of the tower which grants him a clear killing field.

Moments prior to the Wizard's appearance, Arundael decided to engage the remaining sharpshooter and in an impressive display of agility and strenght, the Swordmage jumped clear across the gap between the two watchtowers. The cowardly beast decided to beat a hasty retreat however and launched itself down and ran to hide in the large hut nearby.

On the other side of the battlefield, after taunting and wounding the largest of the goblinoids, Dway'le is dismayed when it decides to leave him standing open while it charges his companion. The sneaky Bugbear even managed to cower the remaining goblin into action and they managed a flank on Marl. With a heavy swing of its massive morningstar, the large Goblin knocked the Half-Elf straight on his helmet, which probably saved his live but left him dazed and knocked to the ground. The smaller Goblin, screaming in victory, poked the downed warrior viciously with its rusty sword.

Even with those impressive displays of heroism, this fight appears not to be quite over yet.

As soon as he was on top of the tower, Heryld proceeded to analyse at the battlefield. A moment later, he was already casting his spell, directing the brilliant energy orb towards the towering bug bear. A crackling noise resulted from the impact between the magical orb and the creature's back.

Dway'le:39/39; Ac/Fort/Ref/Will:19/14/15/16

Prepared for a harsh fight, Dway'le was surprised when the bugbear, who towered over him by at least one head, evaded him for an easier fight alongside its green-skinned friend against Marl.

"Can't you fight when you're not outnumbering your opponent?" Dway'le disdainfully tells the monstrous goblin. The goblins street-fighting was irritating the avenger, who considered such behaviour low and treacherous. "Well I guess we can't expect much from your kin" he mumbles as he quickly follows the monster. The elven warrior deliver another strong hit with his axe against the creature's tough hide. With an almost feral growl, the bugbear turns around and makes a couple of steps toward Dway'le. "Where did you think you were going now," the elf spits at it, ready to strike again.

Arundael | HP: 34/40 | AC/Fort/Ref/Will: 20/14/16/16

With a quick arcane trick, Arundael shielded the half elf bard from the massive bugbear's attack. An invisible shield was raised just in time between the monster's morningstar and Marl. The shield was not strong enough to deflect the greenskin's blow, as the massive morningstar connected with the bard's helmet. It still absorbed most of the damage however, which led the confused bugbear to think that the helmet absorbed the shock. The creature growled in surprise, and the eladrin swordmage laughed inside at the beast's stupidity.

Then Arundael had no choice but to curse at his own stupidity. He was distracted long enough to let the sharpshooter flee unnoticed. I can't let him escape and warn all his friends! Quickly, the eladrin litterally ran down the ladder and entered the primal hut to join the cowardly sharpshooter and force the creature to answer the aggression.

Marl: 33/40; Ac/Fort/Ref/Will:18/15/14/16

"That last hit almost made my jaw flying away," a dizzied Marl thought as he laid almost motionless on the floor. The enraged bugbear had jumped on him while he was being distracted by the lesser goblins. He had not seen the more ferocious monster coming. After muttering a spell of healing, the bard's vitality is partially restored. "Now just wait until I get up!" he says to the bugbear. "Probably not very convincing," he adds to himself.

The constant blows (including an invisible one?!?) raining on the Bugbear finally start to piss it off and it screams its rage very loudly (although there may be a bit of pain too). Being thrown around by a measly Elf does contribute a bit to its present state of mind so it is with a vicious snarl that it strikes with its large and spiky Morningstar. The blow does not crush Dway'le however as he blocks the brunt of the hit with the shaft of his magic axe. Still his skin is pierced deeply and blood flows; the Bugbear smiles. The smallish Goblin stumbles around the still prone Marl to hump behind the Elf but it does not manage to hit him.

As soon as the Sharpshooter standing on the tower jumped away, Arundael sprang in hot pursuit. When he reaches the Hut's draped door, the young prince smiles with grim resolution: "There is nowhere to run now and so we shall end this". Upon entering, his keen eyes strain to adjust quickly to the very low light emanating from a single brazier in the middle of the Hut. The Goblin squeals as it sidesteps and run behind the brazier. With a maniacal smile lighting its horrible features, the rasping creature kicks with all its might at the burning embers, hoping to catch the Eladrin in the face. Arundael graciously sidesteps but the fire quickly catches to the dry and dusty pelts lying on the floor. In seconds, a large area is burning brightly! The young prince hears a low "Ooops" as he jumps around, trying to find safe footing.

Marl, still on the ground, slashes wildly as one of the nasty goblin jumps on his back while making its way toward Dway'le. The Bard, in a precarious position and still recuperating from the bugbear's blow, is unable to reach the greenskin with his weapon.

Arundael | HP: 34/40 | AC/Fort/Ref/Will: 20/14/16/16

A thick and black smoke rose from the fire the little creature spread. Coughing, Arundael stood a split second to try to see where the little devil went. He could not see anything because of the smoke, and the intense heat forced the eladrin to exit the burning tent. Covering his mouth with his blue tunic, the swordmage jumped out, and turned around the fiery tent. Cursing under his breath, Arundael thought By the gods, this smoke will alert all the other goblins. The fire is too bad, we won't be able to control it. Fearing it was already too late, the swordmage decided to spread more fire to the tent, hoping to at least kill the sharpshooter that was now trapped inside.

The swordmage completed the complex motions required to cast his spell. Once he was done, he blindly unleashed a blazing fury on the remaining of the tent. Satisfied to let the sharpshooter to his fate, Arundael prepared himself to join the rest of his group.

The fight goes on. With so many casualties in their ranks, it is now evident the goblins will be unable to turn the odds in their favour. The bugbear and his remaining minions yet fight with grim determination; They are too weakened to escape alive from a close-quarter-battle and they know they can't expect mercy from the Eladrin's party. Indeed, the enmity between the goblin and elven races has been raging for many centuries now. There seldom is clemency when the two enemies meet.

It does not take long before Dway'le, Heryld and Marl's combined attacks bring down the Bugbear and his entourage to the ground. The last monster alive, a goblin sharpshooter soon emerges from the tent. The poor creature's clothing and hair are ablaze, though, and it barely makes a couple of steps toward the cave's entrance before it's remaining life-force is taken by the flames.

--------------------------------------------------

The four adventurers regroups to tend their wounds. They then proceed to empty the goblins pocket dry of useful items. If there was anything in the tent, it has been burned by the fire and is beyond repair.
