"If you know some people who may have heard of them as well though, it wouldn't hurt to make a few calls, just in case. Me and Nik over there," pointing over his shoulder to where he waited, "where gonna head back to the cafe, ya wanna come along?" Last edited by Peter172; 03-24-2011 at 10:01 AM. |

"You might want a few long paces from me if you're trying to use that phone. As for my calls, I'd have to access a payphone." He took a few steps away as the man made calls anyway. His mind wandered over all the modern conveniences that others took for granted which he couldn't take part in. Digital clocks, computers, television, cellular phones, MP3 players... he was at least thankful that modern bands were releasing on vinyl still, but it was rather hard to carry a phonograph with him everywhere. At what cost, power?
"Also I don't know anyone... at least not really." He could consult the para-net, but that was risky at best and potentially could call down power of a magnitude he didn't think needed involvement in this area. |

"Oh yeah, sure," Breck said in response to Alex's concerns about his phone, as he moved away and made the call.
When he came back he looked disappointed, "well everyone's busy at the station right now, apparently there's been a spike in crime...I mean besides the one we were part of. They may have something in a day or two, but we might have to track these people down the old fashioned way. With Google," Breck chuckled at his own quip, then said, lets get back to the cafe then, we might just get lucky there...I mean with clues. Breck went and got his truck out of the lot and pulled up so Nik and Alex could get in, then cruised off at a stately pace towards the cafe. Last edited by Peter172; 03-28-2011 at 07:04 PM. |

"What variety of clue did you plan on finding in a crime scene which I literally wiped cleaner than it probably had been in decades?" He didn't mean for it to come out sounding quite so horrible, but with the amount of water he shoved around that place, finding anything would be a challenge. Especially given that the creatures had exploded into ectoplasm which had then dried. He shrugged. "At least there's a payphone near there, I can call my people and inquire about their knowledge."

"Well, you may have washed the inside clean, but there may be something on the outside that was overlooked," Breck said, nonplussed. "Sometimes you get a nice surprise when you least expect it, and besides, we can't go leavin' any rocks unturned," he finished.
