I hadn't considered any options except one. I toyed with the idea of adding the first attempt at the colony into the mountain's backstory, and that now the ghosts of the dwarven expedition haunted it forever.
__________________The dwarves would have been unable to survive the first winter, and froze/starved to death. The peculiar properties of the mountain incited them to become material spirits. My character was human, and I think there was a half-orc in the ranks before horseman took over. Each of these characters made it their life's work to protect the mountain, or rather, protect everyone else from being foolish enough to encounter the ghosts. The half-orc started a tribe that considered the mountain sacred, and his descendants wander the forests eternally, keeping strangers out. The human character was an engineer, and his last creation was a series of automaton that could exist in the mountain without feeling the effects of the spirits, and they too would be charged with keeping others away from the mountain. Player characters would need to fight off roaming orc tribes in addition to surviving outside the mountain. If they can make it inside and overcome the automatons, and finally, the spirits themselves, then they can claim the mountain. Knowing this, I think I would most likely return to being a DM of sorts, except I need someone to help me with the daily encounters and other day-to-day activities. To avoid a fiasco like last time where we did not have enough manpower to run the colonies, I recommend two DMs for each colony. |

That sounds like a cool idea!
I had someone message me saying they are interested as a co-dm for a city, so if you want to keep Thorsden, that would work great. We have someone interested in the dwarven colony already. We just need at least 1 more DM and things can get moving as soon as we get more players? |

I suck at organizing, so I'll just try to create what I'm told to and get someone else to actually run it. I hope this works out.

I'm removing my subscription now, but PM me if anyone manages to pick up this game.

This will not be the first priority on my return to BPB action, but I've always had a unique affinity for this game. Since I've already got DM privileges, I'd be willing to consider getting it rolling again. So, if anyone is still watching and waiting, make thyself known.

Well, I'd be interested in a fresh start. I made a half-hearted stab at joining mid-game (though now I suppose it was more end-game) with poor results, but a re-vamp would give me the opportunity to help shape a colony. I'm away at the cottage at the moment, but come this weekend I'd be interested.

No rush on reviving this one quite yet. I've only just returned to DnDOG in the past two weeks and am getting my own standby games as a DM rolling right now, and fleshing out a few new PC roles. But, I just can't seem to allow myself to give up on this one as well.
