Personality: Alexander is a warrior. He has a strong desire to come out on top in every situation he's in. He has a strong dedication to Kord, his deity. He has placed no blame on Kord for what has happened to him, instead believing that Kord has provided him a chance to show his worth against other warriors. Alexander is an honorable warrior on the battlefield, often forfeiting certain advantages (i.e. flanking) for an even fight. Alexander treats other warriors with respect and honor if they've ever bested him.
History: Before Alexander was swifted away to the Arena, he was a noble warrior prince of a great warrior tribe. Alexander's father was the greatest warrior that the tribe had ever known and Alexander looked up to him. From the time that Alexander could stand, all he wanted to do was become a great warrior like his father. Day in and day out, Alexander trained in the art of war. He learned how to wrestle, how to wield a blade, and how to fight honorably. Alexander's father told Alexander that
"To fight dishonorably is worse than not fighting at all."
Alexander was thirteen when he killed his first man. It was during one of the seasonal attacks of a rival tribe, attempting to encroach upon their lands. Alexander was still a boy who was more arms and legs than muscle and wit but never the less conquered his first foe with honor and tenacity. When the enemy was repelled, a grand feast was thrown for Alexander and the other young warriors who had their first taste of battle. Alexander never wanted it to end.
When Alexander was eighteen he passed the Rite of Manhood, the yearly rite that every man in Alexander's tribe must participate in. If someone failed the Rite, they must wait a full year before trying it again. It consisted of wrestling matches, swordplay, test of wits, and a test of mettle. Alexander passed it all with flying colors. When Alexander was ordained with his greatsword, he took his seat as his father's right hand man. From that day forward, Alexander and his father led their tribe to new found heights of power and prosperity.
Alas, all good things must come to an end. One night when Alexander and his tribe slept, they were fell upon by a rival tribe who had been biding their time and building their warriors. The berserkers fell upon the sleeping tribe without mercy and with out empathy. They slaughtered almost all of the warriors, including Alexander's father, and enslaved the women, children, and elderly. Alexander fought ferociously to protect the tribe, but alas he was knocked out and captured. The berserkers feared that Alexander's presence would eventually cause the other slaves to rise up and strike back at the berserkers so they sold him to the Arena.
At first Alexander was angry at Kord. He blamed him for what had happened to him and his tribe. But eventually, Alexander began to think that this may only be a test of faith for the young man, and that staying true to Kord would pay off in the next life. So Alexander accepted his new life and worked at it like he had before, with hard work and strength of mind and body.
