"The minute is up." He said, eyes tracing the line of trees. "Have you then prepared to disband, or shall I lay upon you such violence that the world will tire of the concept?" Still, there was only the slightest inflection. If he perceived their gazes and shocked expressions, even those bemused by his words, he did not pay them any mind. He was, by his own will and desire, the strongest and greatest man in the clearing. At least in his own mind; his mind had the authority to back itself up, however. |

And who might you be? Sam asks. She then brings her left hand to her right shoulder, ready to draw her sword at a moment's notice.

The voice replies, ignoring Sam’s inquiry, “Yes, quite…our minute is up.”

The arrow strikes his leg, and after a momentary strain of teeth as the pain floods in, Orlais smiles. It is a wicked smile, an evil smile, a mad visage which shudders as it revels in the coming carnage. "Very well! You were given a chance! I regret that it came to this... but only slightly."
He raises his cane and points towards one of the archers. Energy gathered around the tip, and launched itself like a black inky spear at the offender's chest. |

Ha! My shadow shoots better than you! Sam says when the arrow flying toward her lands a few feet away from her. She then runs in the direction that the arrow came from at a slight angle so that she can see them and they can't see her because of the fire in the camp. She

The majority of the arrows miss their intended target but Orlais and Lafayette are hit, Lafayette goes down with an arrow to the stomach as Sam blurts out her insult. Sam sprints headlong into the wood as the last of the arrows finds the side of the wagon. Her movement into the brush caused the movement of her intended assailant. This slight change in the shadows was the only reason Orlais could see the archer Sam headed toward. Though Sam crashed through the foliage it was her archer that took the damage as Orlais’s bolt smashed into his side sending him to the ground. His bow falling in the place he once stood.
