Well hey, lookit that! I may have to give it a try sometime. Earthdawn was one of my first experiences with role-playing, however brief. My family owned most of the core books for it and I'd give them a read-through when I was bored. If no one on here is willing to run the old Earthdawn mechanics, I certainly wouldn't mind learning Pathfinder if it gets me back into Barsaive.

I once posted a thread trying to get interest in an Earthdawn game, but I wasn't quite ready to take up the DM reins so I put it in Misc. Games and it languished there forgotten. I would love to get in as a player, since I'm just starting my own game to DM. I'll go for either set of mechanics (heck, I was even willing to learn 4th ed mechanics if ED came out in 4th ed).
The storyteller's guide (or DM's guide or whatever) is due out late april or early may. . . Looks like this is a good year for the fourth world. |

Well, I've got a copy of the main book floating around here somewhere, and I should be able to get any others on short notice. If you can wrangle together enough people to make it worth playing, I'll gladly join.

I've got another game I'm starting, someone else will have to DM. I can certainly make time though, if one does start up.

I don't know anything about shadowcat but I've been thinking about buying the earth dawn books for a while. Played it about 9 or 10 years ago and loved it.

Hopefully I can find a copy of this to thumb through at some point before committing to buy it. I want to be really excited. I played Earthdawn back in the days of FASA's edition. This Pathfinder conversion is more material from RedBrick, and to be honest, they haven't been my favorite gaming company, either in terms of their prior treatment of the Earthdawn material, or in general.
But Earthdawn is awesome. So I'm hopeful. |
