I'm very impressed with the applications that have been put forth. I am not going to be announcing the final 2 or 3 players until tomorrow; though, based on a combination of factors, but mostly how much I enjoyed your overall character I added a column last night to the application list with an obscure emoticon rating of how your application stacks up with those who have been posted, this can give you an idea of how you stand in selection, based purely upon the application's merit. The rating has little if nothing to do with the party's current selection makeup and what they may or may not need in the ways of skills and expertise.

Tomorrow I'll be making the final cut. Which will give everyone a chance to improve their application and maybe earn some some teeth or shades. At this point with 2 or 3 seats remaining and a party which already has many areas of expertise covered, there is only 1 type of class which I've been hoping to see a good application for (and of all submitted only 2 of those are in the final running as of now)... but only 1 will be making the cut. So the other 1 or 2 seats will not be dependent upon class, race, or any other factors beside a solid character concept.

Good luck to all. I'll be watching the thread with anticipation to see if anyone steps up to earn some shades or even a huge thumbs up; a last minute gold mine worth a ninja would be awesome as well!

Couldn't find anything much better than this. Less green, more grit.

Race: Wild Elf
Class: Ranger (Complete Warrior var.)
Alignment: Chaotic Good
Build Projection: Ranger/Wildrunner (RotW)

 

When she must walk the streets of Silverymoon, Sibylin is set apart from the hubbub with a sustained look of disgust and the latest fashion of forest-folk. She makes no attempt to hide her heritage. Instead, she refuses to conform, embracing her roots in a prideful display of hide and fur.

Her hair is composed of matted strands littered with feathers and her clumped bangs are pulled from her angular features, tied with some wooden clasp. Sitting with a ferocious tenacity on her high cheek are Sibylin's eyes. They are black save the small flecks of hazel that spot the left iris. Some kind of organic paint circles her face and reminds anyone of her chiselled bone structure.

I'll be making decisions shortly. To everyone who makes the cut, you deserve it for the characters you have created. Overall there are a lot of good characters here, some I wish had been shown to their full potential (and subsequently make my final choices that much more difficult), but there are only so many seats, and choices must be made.

For everyone else who had an interest in AitFR, I thank you for your participation and efforts. There are only so many seats though, and I had to make a choice. However, if at any time a seat may need to be filled I will refer to the applications presented.

Replacement Players Adventures in the Forgotten Realms has entered a phase of significant group absenteeism. I am now fielding applicants to fill the empty party seats. I will first consider anyone willing to assume an existing character (allowing for any tweaks to the character), and second new characters from new players. The characters which are currently available are: Turin Tinhammer - Dwarf Cleric Filius Spellspanner - Gnome Wizard Timen Waterfoot - Halfling Rogue Current Party XP: 471 All creation information regarding new characters should default to stipulations already pointed out in this thread, but starting xp will match the party's current (as posted now). New characters would be integrated at the Two Forks Inn, village of Khelb, near the Nether Mountains of the Silver Marches.

Posing interest. May look at the SRD here for possible material to work with. I'm more confortable with the system now thanks to Eterinty's End, actually. Through I may need some help with creating a actual character.

If I don't come up with anything new, I may want to take over Turin - I knida have a soft spot for him.

Character: Filius Spellspanner
Build projection: Transmuter - Master specialist - Archmage?
Changes:

* I'd like to make him a transmuter, but the kind that would actually transform the philosopher's stone into a mere pebble. He's not focused enough to be an illusionit. Maybe there could always be something off, something weird with his spells. They work normally, but give a strange visual result. E.g. Polymorph into a pink dragon instead of a red one. (Not that I'd actually be polymorphing myself that much, I see Fillius more as a bumbling wizard, stopping an oncoming charge by transmuting the earth to mud.)
* Alignment change: goofy, absent-minded professor-type yet good of heart
* If possible: switch the Education feat for something more useful like spell focus transmutation.

"Filius!"
Staring intently at the glyphs Fillius murmured. "Interesting, they seem to be an old variant of ..."
"Filius!!"
"Ah, and this bat guano would combine quite nicely with the sulfur I gathered last week."
"SPELLSPANNER!!!" Rodrigo yelled as he tried to fend off a pair of zombies.
"Mmh. What?"
"A little help would be appreciated."
Fillius turned around and peered over his glasses at his struggling companion. He sighed "Can't a gnome collect his reagents in a modicum of peace and quiet?" Spellspanner walked up to Rodrigo, muttered a few almost nonsensical words and slapped the fighter on his left butt-cheek. Immediately Rodrigo nearly doubled in size. "Can you handle it on your own now?" Fillius asked. "Yes? Good. I'm back to work." Our spellcaster returned to the guano heap, his eyes glistening of anticipation for the coming experiments.

Questions:

Would you allow spells from PHB2 to be used?
UA-transmuter variant: spell versatilty. Is this allowed?
Master specialist: expanded spellbook. Would this let me learn transmutation spells from other classes (like the unseen seer)?
