Body ~~~~~~~~~ Safe spots seem to be at a premium, sadly. It seems that most of the threads talk about 'holdouts', areas where people go to hide and use numbers to deal with any aggressors for the duration of the Witching, but the threads talk about where they think they are so they can attack them rather than actually wanting anyone to join them there. It seems that trust, like safety, is rare among shardlings. After all you are either their enemy now and seeking to steal their power for your own, or you will become one later on during a future battle and allying with them just gives them knowledge of what you can do. You do see an advertising thread for Clans and Parties looking for members, offering protection for service, but there are an equal number of threads warning people not to trust them. What better way to get easy shards than to lure someone to an 'interview' and then attack them? They may not be able to swarm them without breaking the rules, but nothing stops them from challenging them one on one over and over until sheer exaustion makes them lose. Getting more details from the forum you find out that libraries and museums, possibly safe zones in the real world, have no safety during Witching. It seems everything but godlings and mortals who have been killed return to what they were like, so if you use the original copy of the constitution to wipe blood from your face it will be back in its case and unharmed the next day. You do discover a fight coming soon though, between the Dirty Devils and Life Inc. Apparently it will held in park nearby, full of trees and walking paths. |

Aaron sighs, "Oh well, I suppose that is not fully unexpected, considering the types I have seen already," He realized that the to make a choice was coming fast: would he go to the fight to possibly get attacked in the cross fire or would he stay here and hope for the best. He cringed at the thought, but if prearranged fights were common, he might as well learn what happens at one.

Cherry panics when she sees what time it is. She rushes back to HQ, trying to figure out where she needs to be.

Sasha's used to passing so much time online, but decides that she should probably do a search to see if she can find any info regarding Sword. Who he might be, where he might be, or even other Shardlings.

__________________Body ~~~~~~~~~~~~ You head toward the site where the fight is schedualed, finding the area already containing several people who look at you with enough curiosity and speculation that you are pretty sure they are shardlings as well. There are perhaps a half dozen of them there already, half an hour from the Witching, as varied a bunch as you are likely to see. Two of them are teenie punk goths, all spiked hair and black ripped leather and white face. Leaning against a wall not far from them is a man in non-descript buisness suit, quietly smoking a cigarette as he watches the others around curiously. A very nervous young girl sits on a park bench nearby, still in the uniform of a nearby catholic all girls school, her school case sitting on her lap and her twin pigtails hanging down her chest as she tries to stop herself from shaking. The other two look like vagrants, quietly sitting in a park bench and feeding the few birds that are around at this hour seed, while watching the others and you with sharp and wary eyes that contain more power than the others combined. ~~~~~~~~~~~~~ Savior ~~~~~~~~~~~~~ The small office they gave you has its door opened as you start to panic, an unknown man in strange clothes standing in the doorway. Dressed in purple and black striped clothing, his face is covered in a pleasantly smiling full face white mask. His shoes are huge affairs, green and pointed with a bell on each tip, matching his huge fool hat with silver bells chiming as he bows to you in mock respect. He has a trio of satchels and packs on him, all bulging full but placed where they will allow freedom of movement. "Hello, Ms Cherry. How pleasant it is to meet you, and be met! I am Quilestrious Miltrafarion! No... That is too long..." he pulls the mask off with a swift gesture, revealing other masks beneath it. He swaps it out for another, a puzzled or thoughtful face, putting the smile behind it as he slips it back on his face. This is all done within a twentieth of a second, giving the illusion that his face flicked from one emotion to the other. "Well, that is what I am called today anyway. Or perhaps just now..? It is such a grand name though isn't it." he says, leaning forward and switching his mask to a toothy smile. ~~~~~~~~~~~~ Transpose ~~~~~~~~~~~~ ((You find what was mentioned above)) |

Sasha pops in the name "Finntroll" as a username and reads up on Sword. She then grabs her gear and dashes out the door, heading to the site of the fight. She hangs back a ways, not wanting anyone to notice her presence and looks for Sword.

Aaron simply hangs back away from everyone, waiting for the Witching... unless someone would come up to him.

Puzzled at the strange man and his performance, Cherry gives a nervous smile at the whole affair. "Nice to meet you, Sir Miltrafarion. And to what do I owe the pleasure?" She asks, unsure of his reason for being here. She prepares herself for anything.

You find quite a few comments about Sword on the boards, mostly referring to him as 'insane' or 'homocidal'. It seems that early into his godhood he pissed off Life Inc by stealing one of their angels, and now they try to take him out when they can. So far they haven't had much luck, his skill being slightly above par, his precautions against his real life identity being elaborate and his allies as strong as he is.
__________________You arrive at the site as people start to gather. (See my previous post for the details of who is there). ~~~~~~~~~~~~~ Body ~~~~~~~~~~~~~ You wait at the back, a decent distance from all but the man smoking his cigarette, and far enough from him. He looks over at you curiously though, a raised eyebrow preceding his words "Newbie..?" ~~~~~~~~~~~~~ Savior ~~~~~~~~~~~~~ He swaps out a surprised mask, then into a rueful one, then back to a smile within an instant, almost as quick as microexpressions. "I am so very sorry Ms Cherry. I have been assigned to be your 'team mate' for this evening. We have a match in... Oh, around twenty minutes. Unless you object..?" |

Aaron thinks for a moment. Sure it was only his second night, but he had already experienced alot. He had survived his first night, he managed to not get on the bad side of Life Inc., and found out about the shardling forum. "I'm learning quickly, but eventually I need actual experience."

The man nods, his face blank as he takes another drag "Trenton." he says, introducing himself. Looking out at the empty bit of park, an area that everyone but passing humans are avoiding "Should be an interesting fight. I hear rumors that life inc is sending in some kind of wild card."

Arron hesitates for a moment, not quite knowing if it has an alias or his real name and if he should give his real name or an alias himself, "Arron." he replies after Trenton said his name. "I know a very slight amount about Life Inc., someone from them came to see me earlier. Thankfully they actually wanted to thank me with the way I handled a situation being on the," slight pause, "newer side. I don't know anything about the other one. I mainly read that this was happening on the website and figured why not.
I've also heard rumors like that," then he similes, "but in a sense all of us newbies are wild cards. Sure we might be weak, but for the first few nights most won't know what is it we can do until they test us... i hope." Last edited by goplayer7; 09-09-2012 at 01:56 AM. |

He actually looks surprised "A member of Life Inc approachedyou? And thanked you for something?" he chews that over for a moment "I have never known them to get involved before..."
__________________Suddenly an idea comes to him and he gives a half smile "You sure it wasn't one of the overseers? Cocky bastards those... Turn up from nowhere, give cryptic notes about rules and vanish..? They aren't actually members of Life Inc, but seem to be more like... judges. Third parties to the 'game' we find ourselves playing." |

Aaron thinks about it, "I suppose my ignorance shows. After looking at the website I put two and two together but it seems I got three instead of four." He takes out his compacted sandwich from before and begins to take a bite. After swallowing it, Aaron continues, "I mean all white clothing, that is the sort of thing that one would think of then they think life."" He takes another bite, "Any chance that my brain thinks that it is supposed to be getting sleep now, or is that just me?"

Arriving at the scene and taking a look at the man in the business suit, Sasha feels this may be Sword. She waits patiently, shuffling through her cards a bit, preparing herself mentally. If Sword was to fight tonight, Sasha wanted to be able to help out. Prove she had what it took to him. She was still contemplating an Alias, several names when through her head. Skeletonwitch, Nihilith and Natraam all seemed like good ones. She'd have one when the time was right.
