I always forget because I can't use my abilities. I'm hoping to start a game as a beguiler soon, was thinking maybe there was some variant I didn't know about. *smacks head against wall to get it in working order again*

why can't you use your ability?

my ability is to automatically confirm a crit. To use it I'd actually have to roll a crit against something susceptible to crits.
__________________Yeah, I love undead as a theme, but facing them can get frustrating. I usually play enchantment-focused bards. I love doing things like fascinating four hill giants, then suggesting to each of them that the others are just waiting for a chance to kill him, so he better get them first, or using confusion to start a two-salamander slapping match. That's one of the fun things about playing a beguiler, you can do that as well!

Yeah, the only reason I haven't played a beguiler before now is that they're Int-based, not Cha-based.

Ah yeah, divine versus arcane... different abilities needed.

except bard and beguiler are both arcane, it comes more down to do you want a high chr or int. with that kinda of flavor skills like bluff, diplomacy and intimate are useful and those are all chr based so there is synergy

Exactly. I don't think I'd ever play a wizard and I rarely play divine casters. I also like being able to pick my spell on the fly and can't imagine having to pick spells every single day.

I really like having to pick my spells at the beginning of the day, it makes me try and anticipate what's going to happen. The thing with divine casters are they're incredibly versatile...as long as they know what they're up against in advance =P
Of course, not having to choose to prepare cure spells is very helpful in this regard. |

This is my first time playing a divine caster in a long time. But with a druid you don't play for the spells it is for the wild shape. I can't wait to be high enough.

Druids are rather like the secondary healer, kind of a support class

![]() Are you guys familiar with the class Tier rankings? Edit: Post is coming up now, by the way. Sunday is rabidly becoming "homework day." Some things just never change... Last edited by Frodiddly; 10-11-2010 at 08:47 PM. |

First off, Myst, you were bullrushing the enemy at G,2, right?
__________________Second off, tier rankings are general ranking of superiority given by extremely veteran 3.5 players about the classes. For example: Tier 1 includes Wizards, Clerics, and Druids. Tier 2 are Sorcerers, Favored Souls. Tier 3 are Beguilers and such. Essentially, they're a way to measure how game-breaking a class can be based on optimization. Anywayyys... :P This is the list if you're interested. |
