[Game Thread] Part 1.1 - A Meeting of Heroes

Larin stands at the edge of the bridge allowing the priestess to do her thing. He is ready for any sudden moves by the goblins. As he waits he looks to the tree line for other threats as well.

At the dwarf's words, the nearest goblin leaps toward him thrusting with its badly made spear, missing Tordek completely and screaming something in its native tongue. As it does so Evendur draws both his mace an shield, readying himself to charge. As all this happens, both groups notice a large, red chested ape attempting to circle around the goblins.

 

In case you haven't guessed, this would be a good time for initiative rolls as well as to say what you'll be doing for the first few rounds

Ardusk, cursing Tordek's overly hostile words, quickly loads his crossbow and takes aim on any of the goblins which appear to be sticking to the rear or planning to use a ranged weapon. He fires off the shot then prepares to draw his sickle and shield, not believing he'll have a chance to get a second shot off before the goblins close in.

 

Ardusk will load, a move action, then fire his crossbow at the furthest goblin or any goblin staying out of melee combat.

'That didn't work! Oh well. Plan B' When the goblins began to get hostile, Lunette recognises her approach isn't working. She reaches for one of the Javelins she has sheathed to the side of her backpack, and hurls it at one of the supporting goblins.

Korch’k felt this coming in the air, and sprinted full bore at the goblin speaking the common tongue. Crashing his way through the remainder of what brush lay between them and roaring his feral scream. The baboon barbarian puffed his fur to make himself appear larger, curled his upper lip over his fangs, stuck out his crimson splash on his chest and charged.

After watching his leader charge angrily at the dwarf, one of the goblins follows, accidentally mimicing the goblin speaker as his makeshift spear darts over the angry dwarf's shoulder. As the cries of battle ring out from both sides, Lunette takes out a javelin as Ardusk takes aim with his crossbow, missing completely as the bolt flies over the head of the goblin bringing up the rear. Lunette's javelin flies completely in the wrong direction, hitting the river with some force as it floats away downstream.

The goblins' speaker swings its spear at the dwarf again who ducks beneath it, "Dies stupid dwarf!" the goblin shrieks unaware of the morningstar rushing towards the side of its head. With the power of Evendur's strong arm behind it, the morningstar smashes into the goblin's head with some serious force and a loud cracking sound is followed by the goblin slumping to the floor. Tordek, not one to be outdone, swings his axe at his second attacker, missing as the quick goblin jumps to the side.

Another goblin rushes the dwarf thrusting its spear as inefectively as the other two. A fourth goblin though, realising that Tordek's companions have joined the fight, charges at Lunette, catching her in the side with its crude spear and causing not much more than a deep splinter.

Seeing a battle starting out between the nice adventurers and nasty goblins, Korshk rushes forwards, screaming a loud battlecry at the newest goblin to attack the shorter yet most muscular of the companions. As he goblin sees the angry beast rushing towards it, he drops his spear and his eyes go wide in fear as a wet patch appears on its already spoiled trousers. After seeing their companion so scared by this strange animal, the last two of the goblins charge at Korshk, one of them missing while another manages to catch Korshk with its spear, penetrating the animal boy's skin yet causing no more than some discomfort.

"Ow!" Lunette shouted after being hit with the spear, the pain in her voice more surprised and discomforted than agonized. Swiftly, she unhooked her mace from the loop on her belt, and swung it upwards into the goblin's gut.

Korch’k peeled out another high-pitched roar and lunged at his assailant with fangs first in a feral assault filled with raw passion.

Evendur makes 5ft step NW to the space of the fallen Goblin 1, and attacks Goblin 5 as a standard action, while flanking it. As a move action he spots surroundings.

Ardusk steps back to avoid being caught by any of the goblins. Small they might be, he still didn't want to get stuck by any of their blades. He strains and pulls as he draws back the crossbow, loads the bolt, and takes aim at the ugly creature straight in front of him. Whispering a plea to Tymora he releases the string and watches the bolt sail out towards the target.

As the bolt sails true Ardusk grins in triumph and spares a quick glance to see if the goblin stayed on its feet.

 

I'm not sure if critical hit damage is just double the original damage or if it is rolled again as I've know DMs who do both. To be safe I'm re-rolling the damage and if the crit is confirmed I can either double the 3 I rolled or take the 3 plus this 1d8 I am rolling.

Lunette, angered by the goblins previous hit, pulls out her mace and swings at the frustratingly quick goblin as it ducks beneath her blow, giggling as its spear penetrates her skin once again, causing the priestess to wince in pain. Ardusk, after watching the goblin leader fall, shoots over the goblins unconcious body, hitting its companion with a crossbow bolt that penetrates the goblins shoulder, making it whimper in pain as it drops its spear, leaving its hands free to attempt to keep its blood inside its body. After making sure his crossbow bolt hit, Evendur scans his surroundings, making sure no more enemies were incoming as well as looking to see how the rest of his compaions are doing.

As the whimpering goblin slumps to the ground, still concious and whimpering, Evendur attempts to step around the goblin leader's body to swing an attack at a goblin now between himself and the wild beast that seemed to be helping them. Just as he swings his sword though he stumbles in the puddle of blood, gathering below his feet. Tordek, growling fiercly at the already frightened goblin, swings his axe catching the goblin slightly in the side with a ferocious attack, as it drops its spear and runs to the south at full pelt, holding its new side wound whilst screamin in common about the "demon monkey" and "scary dwarf."

Korch'k, out-numbered and already having taken a hit, lunges at one of his goblin attackers and sinks his fangs into its dirty arm. As he does this the two goblins thrust with their own weapons, both of them managing to penetrate the ape's torso, though one more so than the other. With their leader down, one of their companions rolling on the floor in pain and another having run off towards the woods to the south, screaming in both common and goblin, the remaining three goblins hesitate noticeably.
