Okay all, sorry about all of the policy updates that are cropping up here and there, but this is my first time around and there are a lot of things I'm only considering as they come up.
__________________Today's topic: Posting rates and inactivity. On the one hand, I know that we all have lives outside of this site, and D&D is secondary, and sometimes we just aren't inspired to write anything. On the other, the rest of the party might be waiting for one player to take an action, and they are all online and can't move. So what I've decided to do is look at the ratios that the Quest for Rent Money uses, and cut them in half, since this game was built upon activity levels being up. That's why there was no application process and you were all hand-picked. Quality and activity. The quick and dirty: 24 hours with no activity (and with the need for some from your character), I'll take over for your move, or someone you're closer to, if you prefer. 3 days of inactivity and your character is freezer locked until you are consistently active again. At this point I'll probably give a stand-in to one of the other players, because I find DMNPCs really distasteful. If no specific action is needed, I'll just move you with everyone else, as part of the scene update. I'm trying to handle this as kid-glove as possible, without slowing down the fun for the others. |

Misread the Phb entry on double weapons ;_; Is the book hard to interpret or am I just thick?

I would suggest sticking mostly to D&D wiki or to the SRD here on the site. It take the info scattered all over the PHB and condenses it into one clear paragraph.

Good post Ethics!
__________________And speaking of good posts, this is how we're going to make them awesome! Introducing:: The Bonds system! ![]() This system encourages the development of bonds between party members, by rewarding those touching moments with Tokens! "What can I do with more Tokens, Causa?! Are these like Pogs?" No, 'tard >.< These are Bond Tokens that once you earn them, you can use on your team mates to make them better at STUFF! Here's an example, Say that Corstine and Nilheim have a touching moment where they become really good friends even though she'll never see him as anything more than that. He says he accepts it but it's not really true. Not deep down, anyways. This touching moment earns Busta a "Corstine" token, and Ethics a "Nilheim" token. Later on, in combat or during a skill check, Busta can use his "Corstine" token to grant her a bonus! And, they are collectable! print them out, and put them on your backpack! Decorate your locker! Anything you want, They're Bond Tokens! Remember: Love your party, and your party will be stronger for it! Last edited by Causa; 09-26-2010 at 02:15 AM. |

Okay, I've been talking to some of the players about a system to rate roleplaying and reward writing, and I've decided to give this system a shot.
__________________Starting today (9-26-10, or 26-9-10 for those on European standard , I will begin rating exceptionally talented writing with bonus experience.A post that is worth extra experience points will be rated 1-5, with each ranking earning 5 xp. A 5 star post will get 25 xp, which is what each of you earned for overcoming the Tomb lock. This xp will allow you to level up before other party members, or provide a great source of extra xp for things like crafting, scribing scrolls, or anything else that eats your experience points. I want to reward you all often so write well and take some time to review your post afterwards. If anyone wants pointers on forum writing, I suggest looking Here, as well as other lectures in the SNOT:WWAD forums ![]() I'll be totaling up scoring on wednesday mornings (EST) and posting the bonus experience for everyone in the game thread. Happy posting, and may the best writer win! |
