The Cast
Character creation will be determined by rolls as in the standard SRD, generated in the mechanics thread. Your final attributes should all be above 9 and have at least two stats above 15. Re-roll until you have this. Username: Character Name: Starting Level: Class(es): Description: Background: Last edited by Cheaplaffs; 10-05-2010 at 10:27 AM. |

My player-character should serve as a decent example of what I'm looking for.
Username: Cheaplaffs Character Name: Inyis "The Gypsy" Qui Starting Level: 7 Class(es): Dedicated Description: Age 20, Qui has already lead a very eventful life. His face and skin is tanned like most of the people from his village, and his shaggy black hair is often done in dreadlocks to keep it out of his face. Though not overly muscular, The Gypsy is rather athletic and able-bodied, with strong features and fierce dark eyes. He typically wears loose trousers with belts and bandoleers, along with a light tank top and vest, with big gloves, goggles, and usually a bandanna over his face. This is to both keep the western dust out of his face, as well as to keep his identity something of a secret. Background: Born during the War, Inyis Qui was brought up in a nomadic community of aboriginal Westerners, known to the rest of the world typically as 'Gypsies' because of their bohemian customs and isolationist ways. Though the title is typically negative in connotation, Qui has taken on the title begrudgingly after becoming famous near the end of the war. His father, the first "Gypsy" distinguished himself in the conflict as a terrorist and anarchist after sabotaging and scuttling the Eastern Airship Vigilance on its way to what was then Bone City. Present at the time, Inyis was able to escape the burning vessel before it crashed to the ground against his own wishes, forced out of the bomb bay doors at the last moment by his father, who perished in the collision. Despite his father's sacrifice, Inyis was soon captured by the Eastern Army as it made its way West towards the front, and spent the last ten years of the war behind bars. After a total of 16 years in prison, the Gypsy has emerged a different person. At first begrudgingly, and then sportively, Inyis accepted his prison name, the name given to his father, as a symbol of his freedom and forefathers. Years of defending his honor and that of his father in an Eastern Prisoner of War camp hardened the Gypsy as a brawler, and coupled with his natural marksmanship, made him a prized possession of the Eastern council. When most of the other political prisoners had been released or executed at the end of hostilities, the Gypsy remained imprisoned, without a trial. His very existence kept a secret, even to his family. When the recent troubles arouse in the West, and given the pressure of the epidemic, the Eastern Council has conveined and decided to release The Gypsy as an agent. A popular figure in the west, its possible that Inyis can effect the lawlessness there and perhaps influence the formation of a stable government. In reality, the government has sent him Eastward, where he has orders to meet with the expeditionary force embarking from Dinotopia. Instructed not to introduce himself to anyone who doesn't already know his identity, the Gypsy was turned loose on his old homeland, now scarred and disfigured since the last time he'd set eyes on her... Character Name: Lizbeth Stokes Age: 19 Gender: Female Birthplace: The East Starting Level: 3 Class: Tough Hero Description: Lizbeth very much looks the part of one of Dinotopia's convict laborers. Her uniform consists of heavy orange overalls over a plain, white shirt. A heavy collar is locked around her neck. Not afforded a pair of shoes, Lizbeth is goes about her duties barefoot. Lizbeth's skin tans easily, and her face hands and feet are quite dark from sun exposure, though her unexposed skin remains relatively fair. Lizbeth has brown eyes and blonde hair that is cut short. Background: Growing up, Lizbeth wanted nothing more than to be a soldier. Though she did well enough on her exit exams to earn a scholarship to Dinotopia's university, Lizbeth passed up this opportunity to enlist in the East's army. After basic and advanced training, Lizbeth started work as a supply clerk, a very boring job. Lizbeth started to regret not attending university and began to devise schemes to entertain herself (and make a little extra money). When Lizbeth was caught stealing military supplies for personal profit, she was stripped of her rank and sentenced to hard labor. Lizbeth's sentence has seen her assigned to a variety of tasks- farming, beautification (i.e. picking up trash), mining, construction, and even pipefitting in the sewers and steam tunnels beneath Dinotopia. Character Name: Sophia Townsley Age: 18 Gender: Female Birthplace: The East Class type: Charismatic Hero, unless you'd rather I use something else to get to the Explorer prestige class Description: Petite and slender, Sophia looks even younger than she is. Her baby-face doesn't help any either. It's round, with pink cheeks and wide blue eyes. Her dark hair is cut in a shaggy, boyish style, one of her many attempts to undercut her tendency to look like a porcelain doll. Her clothing starts prim and proper every morning, but by afternoon is usually disheveled--dirty, torn, untucked, and wrinkled. She's a master at charming her way out of her not uncommon impish plots-gone-wrong. Background: Sophia is the only child of Edward and Janice Townsley. Yes, the Edward and Janice Townsley. Edward, Dean of the University, Townsley and Dr. Janice Townsley, Chair of the Engineering Department. The intellectual elite. Which meant every day, Sophia got to shuffle off to her prim and proper classes in her prim and proper clothes, with the weight of the university on her shoulders. So she chopped off her doll-ish ringlets and became a tomboyish joker. Her mischievous streak got her in trouble and her charm got her out. Her mother dressed her in prim pleated skirts, and she climbed trees in them. Trees were her favorite--you could see forever from the top of a tree--but she climbed on, over, or under just about anything. She'd wander the grounds when she was supposed to be in class, wander the city when she could, drinking in the sights and sounds and smells. And when she came home, inevitably smudged and tattered and scraped, she'd give her parents a charming grin, make a cute wise-assed remark, and they'd resign themselves to doing it all over again tomorrow. |
