Sorry, I'm in a habit of playing games where posting flavor text that has no effect, like random unnamed NPCs implying things about going out, is encouraged in appropriate surroundings. But I'm happy to do whatever MCP prefers, and just keep it to myself. Just wanted to set up a situation where bringing up going out for the evening again made sense. As for the diplomacy check, I'm just itching to test out the character, and pointless flavor rolls to introduce both randomness and the characters strengths (or weakness) seem fun.

I would never assume a player controlled character is going to be controlled based on the mechanics of another. It's not like taking the old leadership feat means that the rest of the party become just cohorts, after all.

That's cool, I have seen DMs who like it both ways, always best to clear it first, I saw one DM go off the deep end. lol that was a funny sight.

I have a hook going. If you don't want to go anywhere, fine. If you want to go out and celebrate, also fine. Diplomacy checks between PCs isn't discouraged though it isn't really going to affect them via game mechanics beyond being proof of the character's talking ability.

I was told that he can also fly, but I'm not giving too much credit to that, because he is afraid of heights (I'll gladly accept a rule imposing a Will save if he looks down to a fall bigger that 10 ft.)
