![]() Also... to clarify, Hyregoth... is that a request to refrain from blaspheming, or a request to watch my language? Cause I'm not capable of the second... and neither is Peter. |

I hope I can score a magic weapon out of this. I don't have one.
__________________One thing we might want to do OOC, since (apparently, though this satisfies me for several reasons) we've been adventuring with each other for some time. We should agree how we divide up the treasure. I will propose a method that's worked for me in the past, and which is designed with the following ends in mind. 1. Since we can only sell gear for half its value, this should be done as infrequently as possible- only with items no one wants or can use. 2. Items should be used by the character best able to use them. Generally, players know which items are best for them and desire them accordingly. The possibility of item crafting throws all this out of whack somewhat- when items can be crafted freely, the optimal decision is to have the crafter craft the best items for the party. When lots of books are allowed, various extremely powerful items can be a big help. This game is fairly permissive as far as material, but I don't think we 1) have the time to craft, nor 2) have a crafter willing to build items for all of us. It involves XP sacrifice. So anyway, the bottom line is we have plunder and we all want a share. This is the procedure I propose. 1. Assign each item a monetary value- the full, purchase price of the item. Use this total to assign to each character a GP value representing their share of the loot. 2. Draw straws. In practice this involves rolling 1d1000 and organizing from top to bottom. 3. In descending order, choose one item from the pile. This item is to be used by the character- not sold. If a character does not wish to utilize an item, he/she may pass. This will give them a greater share of the loot- see below. 4. Repeat until all characters have passed. What remains is raw gold, masterwork items, magic items not suited to any character, etc. 5. Check the value of items selected against each share- record the difference, if positive, for each character. So, if someone took a really valuable piece of gear on their first pick, a piece that exceeds the share value- they will have a negative total, and not be entitled to a share of the liquid assets. On the other hand, if someone passed on their first pick, their share of liquid assets will be at the maximum. Now, we sell the items, likely getting half value for several of them. Then the amount each party member receives will be a portion of a share- a portion equal to X/Y, where X is the difference between the loot selected and a share value, and Y is the share value. Characters that passed on their first pick will get a full share- characters that didn't pass will get less than a full share. Any remaining loot is distributed evenly among those receiving a full share. I'll do the accounting myself if that's ok. Feel free to accept or reject the idea, guys- please include a counter-proposal if you reject it. Last edited by Lormador; 10-21-2010 at 08:29 AM. |

How do you guys want to do this? I vote we sell all the nonmagical stuff, and just divvy up the cash. But dividing the magic stuff is trickier. |

Well I just gave a proposal. Granted it's a bit complicated, but it's fair. At least, I think it's fair.

I'm for that idea - also as an fyi, whisper has the ability to identify items without the need of a pearl. Just need to stack up on detect magics and sacrifice in combination with an he has in his possession.

Heh. Ok... it IS complicated, but it works for me. Tough to assign a gp value to something like Spidersilk?
Periapts take the necklace slot, right? |

Okay, posting results for Agnus' detect magic spell and Whisper's identification here as well as the game thread-
__________________Potions: 4 potions of cure light wounds, 4 potions of lesser restoration Breastplates: +1 Greataxes: +1 Wand: Cure light, 50 charges Light shield: +1 Gloves/Periapt: Your guesses were correct Ring: Protection +1 Spidersilk: as of now, just a +1 armor, but you do detect a faint aura of... something else around it. Everything else is just as it seems. |

Loots
I could care less about most of the loot, except for the drow poison and I'm calling dibs on that unless any of you have poison use.
oh and I just remembered a cool trick with bags of holding, the portable warrior, have a warrior get in my bag, then I sneak up and let him out, however this only works in very specific circumstances but it works well on taking down guards and spotters

I just realized I told you the value of the Onyx stones without first making you roll Appraise! Oh well. It's not like it will ruin the game or anything. Consider it DM mercy, but a very low type of DM mercy at that.

I would like the wand, and as soon as we figure out the enchantment on the spidersilk i would like that pending on the enchantment. Its better then my armor.
