Grick moves in close enough to make an attack of opportunityassist if needed. He has his blades drawn and stands ominously quiet on the flankingother side of the pile.

Scratch is standing some distance away, about 15 feet. He has a bad feeling about this, like it could be a trap. Zombies, maybe? He'd be pissed, he's managed to avoid the undead this far...

"Oh, it's a person!" Oddwin jumps a few feet and rushes toward the accumulating group, pulling out the second rock he had just put away to provide a bit of extra lighting.

Jinx grabs the mans arm and pulls him out of the corpses. His appearance is dirty but his features are unmistakable. He is the second Guard that went with the Captain. His breathes are short and he can't stand up, barely holding onto Jinx. He stinks horribly, and he is bleeding variously all over his body. He gurgles blood, uttering out a few words, just loud enough that you can hear him "The Dryads... Something... Somethings wrong with them." He coughs relentlessly, his life being held by a very small thread.

Dryads are supposed to be peaceful aren't they? Why would they do something like this? I say we venture deeper into the caves and put a stop to these monsters before more people are killed!
Fredrick stoops down to speak with the Guard lying on the floor, Which way did they go? And what happened to your comrade? |

Jinx looks torn. We've got to get this man to a healer, but if the captain is still alive he'll need help. She looks at a few of the less-combat-inclined in appearance of the group. Can one of you get him to safety? As she speaks, she too, stoops to the Guard, but as she does, she removes a small satchel from her bag, and from it an assortment of bandages. She starts tending the wounds that look the worst, hoping to keep him from bleeding out. Her movements are quick and efficient, rushing so she can move on to find the captain.

Oddwin watches in slightly supressed awe as Jinx bandages the man. "I could not carry him, I would be a flapjack on the ground, but I shall light the way to the mouth of the tunnel with the carrier." He was always eager to help especially when the sick and wounded are involved. They reminded him of his father in his last breaths, his body badly burned and unable to move. He shook his head to clear the expression of blankness on his face. He looked back at the broken guard with leagues of sympathy and whispered a few words as the stone raised itself in the air.

Grick spins on his heal and charges down the next corridor, anxious to find the missing clan leader. From the looks of the room, the human MAY be over his head...

Scratch nodes enthusiastically when asked if anyone can take him out:
"Sure, load him onto Jack and Oddwin can sit up front. We'll take him out and be right back." Besides, maybe they could pick his pocket while they're en route. |

Saint Cuthbert protect us from overzealous half-orcs. She rushes after Grick, leaving the now-stable guard in the other's care.

With his limited strength and already large amount of gear carried, Fredrick doubted if he could get the guard to safety. As such, his only option is to charge after Jinx and Grick.
Wait for me! I'm coming with you two! |

Ranz having not stopped has made is way down the hall we didn't come fromexit and walks down the tunnel. When the half-orc and human come running up from behind he does not react noting that if it was not his "friends" and something had somehow over taken them, he would stand no chance against that something. So he continues forward torch in his off hand and rapier at the ready.

Dragar grins and follows the fighters. "This should be fun."
OOC: "Goddamn it, Leroy!"

The guard spits up blood a bit, but your bandages help control much of the bleeding. He is stabilized for now, but needs to be taken to a caretaker soon. To Frederick's question, he barely responds. "He was there one minute and gone the next... Darkness enveloped us. I can't tell you anymore..." He practically faints and falls back, barely able to keep consciousness. He is then left in charge with Oddwin and Scratch (terrible idea!)
Ranz, Jinx, Dragar, Grick, and Frederick then continue on down the corridor. Its a long corridor, and leads you far from the cavern you just exited. The party, is now split into two. You then come into another cavern. Its rather dark, and you can only see so far ahead of you. You will need to look hard in order to get your surrounding features. It still smells bad, but has changed. Its not as fetid, but now smells like dead moss or grass. All of you get the basic feeling you are being watched by something or someone. |
