I have had an idea for a GURPS campaign for a little while now.

The basic element is horror, and I don't plan for it to be long running (but, as with anything, the future can change this).

It would be in the one hundred point range to begin with, and take place in my neck of the woods (Oregon): i've always wanted to run a relatively low-powered horror scenario set in a place that's rainy and has much greenery in the form of woodlands.

In the past, I had issues with keeping a schedule that would allow previous games to stay alive. I am hoping to work past that.

Anyways, if any of you folks would be interested in taking part in my campaign, let me know. Interest will dictate whether or not i'll start working on character creation guidelines.

Yeah, I'd be up for something like that. I love modern horror games. What kind of sub-genre are you looking at-- Slasher? Supernatural? Do you have any sort of group or clique that you want the characters to belong to? Students? Coworkers?

Yeah, sounds good. When you have all the specs I'll start thinking up a character.

That's good to hear. Now, if two more players sign up, we'll have a game.

Assuming the chance of fighting back working long enough to get away is higher then 0%, then sure, I'll post interest.
No need for a logical foe. I'd buy into a lovecraftian foe, in a world where mad cultists can channel the power of their "god".
Ooh, there's a idea: low magic, but each spell you cast forces you to make a fright check, and failing can screw you right up.

Basically, the characters will know each other, but probably not to the level of "best friends".

This is one part i'm mulling over at the moment.

What age range are you looking at for the characters? High school? College? Older?

Today was really activity filled for me, and tomorrow will likely be so as well (at least in the second and third quarter). Expect full guidelines till not early evening tomorrow (it's currently 1:10 AM here) at the earliest.

Late high school till fifty years of age sounds about right. When I post character creation guidelines, you'll have a better idea of what to shoot for thematically speaking.

Character Creation

Books allowed: Characters/Campaigns, Martial Arts, Low-Tech, and High-Tech.

Characters are "ordinary" residents of Sunnyside in late 2010 (TL8) of our Earth.

Wealth below Average is off limits (unless your character is a teen or doesn't have a steady source of income, but *does* live with others), and most folks are at Comfortable level, with Wealthy/Very Wealthy not being impossible.

Your character may be anywhere from seventeen to fifty years of age.

Everyone has seventy-five Character Points with which to build their character, and can take up to thirty-five points of Disadvantages (gaining an equal amount of Character Points in return). The Dependents Disadvantage has no place in the campaign (in the beginning, at least).

Skills may not exceed Skill Level 14, and this includes the Talent Advantage. Only realistic Skills are allowed. I strongly suggest someone getting the First-Aid Skill for their character, in some capacity, but only if it fits a character's concept (of course).

Only realistic Advantages are allowed.

Only realistic Disadvantages are allowed.

When in doubt, ask!

---

More to come later...

Edit
So that's a real place huh? There's always something creepy about country settings like that. The picture looks like a town out of Leave it to Beaver times.

I couldn't help but smile: not at you, but just the idea, considering I live fairly nearby. Sunnyside has a lot of trees and hills, though not a lot (if any) farms. You have to go out into the rest of Clackamas County, Corvallis, or Tillamook, to see farmland.

Though, don't count out certain possibilities juuuuust yet....
