Heroes of the people

Please post here character descriptions from the ad thread and links to your character sheets.
Just to remind you:
ECL: 1,
Ablity scores: 32 point-buy or 4d6, drop lowest. Everything below 7 gets rerolled, In case of a total modifier below +4 you reroll everything.

Equipment&Gear: Naturally, everyone gets a basic set of clothing (please describe) and 1 (one) item of equipment of their choice (try to keep it plausible). You can ask for any other number of items, I'll make rolls determining the DCs based on every specific case.

Character image: Treat that as my personal whim, but I would like you to post a picture, a movie screenshot or an artwork representing your character (try to keep this in-period). If such a thing seems hard to find, don't bother about it, though. It just would be really nice.

Harv Ibsen
Fast Hero/Criminal
- Of only middling height and lean build, Harv still manages to cut an imposing figure by the slant of his posture and crooked angle of his head, among other mannerisms befitting a scavenger sizing up a carcass with his dull brown eyes. Dressed in somebody's hand-me-down Sunday best bought with illicit gains and worn in emulation of a big-city gangster in a real suit. Blonde hair combed and pomaded in a dashing manner, but with the dirt behind his ears and under his fingernails still visible.
- Harv is a vandal at heart, a reckless kid, but underneath that he's got a cleverness and calculating nature that has always made him size up the angles and seize every advantage, exploit every weakness. A profound dissatisfaction at the state of the world, his town, his family, and himself drives his behavior.

Harv Ibsen, 19 year old sharecropper's son. Family used to be Populists, back when his grandparents owned their own little plot were fighting the rail-road as part of a Grange of smallholding farmers. As the family's fortunes fell and the People's Party did too, they like many others were rolled into the Socialist Party's constituency. Family votes Worker and are members of an Agricultural Workers union. Harv never got sworn in as a full grown member of the union and instead spent his adolescence with the moonshiners, bootleggers, and cattle rustlers; hanging around bars and dance halls and getting up to no good. With the liquor money gone and the less reputable packing plants that would buy stolen cattle gone out of business when the banks went under, Harv has decided to change careers - he was recently participant in a bank robbery.
Character sheet coming soon

Name: Mary Catherine McBride

Class / Occupation: Dedicated Hero / Student

Description / Personality: Mary Catherine is tall and slender. She has a delicate bone structure, most evident in her face, hands, and feet. Mary Catherine has red-blonde hair, green eyes, and freckles, which become far more prominent in the sun.

Mary Catherine can best be described as caring and eager to learn. She is genuinely concerned about the plight of her fellow workers and is eager to learn more about the workers' movement.

Background: The daughter of a Bostonian investment banker and his socialite wife, Mary Catherine was in her second year of medical school when the stock market collapsed. Overnight, her family's fortune evaporated, a situation that would have eventually forced her out of school. Mary Catherine's departure from classes was hastened however by her father's suicide and her mother's plan to return to her native Killeen, Texas.

Sadly, Killeen was no kinder to Mary Catherine, her mother, and her younger brother than had been Boston. Mary Catherine was the only one of the three able to find work (her brother was too young, and her mother to psychologically frail), and that entailed long hours in the hot fields of a ranch just outside of town, followed by nights applying her limited medical knowledge in caring for her fellow workers. Within weeks, Mary Catherine's previously soft hands and feet were calloused and hard. Her skin was burnt red and her freckles far more obvious than they had ever been back in Boston, but she had at least found some satisfaction in putting her abbreviated medical training to use.

Now twenty-six years old, Mary Catherine has only recently been introduced to the labor movement, but she's eager to learn (and do) more in hopes of bettering her own situation, as well as that of her family and new friends.

Equipment & Gear: Basic Clothing (patched, brown skirt; white blouse; bare feet), Medical Kit.
Requested Gear: Dress Clothing (red and white print dress, made from tablecloth; jacket), Pharmacist Kit, Surgery Kit.

Name: Stephen "Tex" Peterson
Class/Occupation: Tough/Rural
Description/Personality: At 6-2" and 225 pounds Tex is an imposing figure. His athletic and military backgroud is evident by his excellent physique. He is a broad-shouldered, muscular man and has short blonde hair. Tex is a nickname he picked up in France during the Great War based on his deep Texas draw. Tex is usually a quiet man, but when he does speak, people listen.
Backgroud: Tex grew up in Killeen on his family's farm. His work on the farm caused him to become a very strong young man and he parlayed that into a successful High School Football career as an offensive lineman. After High School he attended the University of Texas on full scholarship and lettered every year from 1914-1917. After his graduation from UT in 1917 he joined the army and was sent to France to fight with the US Army. While in France he was assigned to the American Tank Corps under George Patton. As with many members of the military during the last few years of the Great War he begins to question why the US is in the war and begins to find the horror of men killing other men over some Capitalist Ideals. He comes home a solid Socialist and begins work in local politics. Around the time of his return The Dust Bowl of the 1930s cause crop and livestock yields to plummet and his family looses their farm. This only furthers his entrenchment into the Workers Party as he becomes angry and the capitalist banks and government that caused him to loose his ancestral home. His local fame as a football player cause him to become a prominant member although he is more interested in protecting the worker's rights and fighting against capitalism than any real leadership role. His obvious physique cause him to be a valuable counter to the hired muscle of the factories who try to break up strikes by their workers. He stands with the striking employees and protects them when he can.

Equiptment & Gear:
Requested Gear: Colt M1911

Name: Seamus O'Finnegan, "Fin"
Class: Fast Hero
Occupation: Criminal, or if allowed a Criminal Variant "Smuggler" I made up, basically adding bluff to the skill list to account for the need to barter and trade... Is the smuggler allowed? I'd really like to have bluff.

Physical Description: Seamus is fairly unremarkable, a trait he maintains by keeping his clothes in the all-to-common state of only semi-clean, his face with a permanent 5 o'clock shadow, and shoes scuffed. He is pushing 6' tall, maybe an inch or two shy, and weighs at a fit but certainly not overfed 176 lbs. He wears a brimless hat common among the lower class, and his clothing all point to him as a regular blue-collar man. His eyes are sharp and glinting, as if he knows something you don't but can't be bothered to tell you, and his mouth almost always has a cigarette hanging out of it.

Personality: Seamus is a bit of a quiet type, a useful trait in his line of work, and always prefers to have a front man handle any situation he finds himself in so he has the chance to eye the other people involved from the shadows. He likes to take his time, but is certainly not above seizing a sudden opportunity if it rears its head. He doesn't make friends lightly, and even the ones he does make aren't worth taking a bullet for. The fact of the matter is that he cares more for a dollar, or a bottle of wine that is well out of reach for average folks, or a cigar that came from an executive's personal stash, then he does for much else. He enjoys knowing the he beats the system, that he is better, in his own way, then everyone else.

Background: Seamus was born in Ireland, during the first world war, to a mother who met a young soldier and, as so many people who say the Americans as the saviours of Europe, fell madly and rashly in love. He of course then left to fight the war, and was lucky enough to be sent home shortly after he arrived, though rather unfortunately due to his death. Word reached Ms. O'Finnegan (somewhat miraculously), and being a single mother with no hope of reuniting with the father of her child, was grief stricken, and after many years of hard work raising her son, contracted Tuberculosis, and then died. Seamus did his best to live honestly, but with no family, no money, and a rather poor economy, he quickly fell to a life of crime, and so moved to the mainland where the business he had been forced to was booming.

He spent his teens doing petty thief work, only stealing from those who had things they could afford to lose, and hawking them off to the rather numerous buyers of the underworld since the war ended, always eking out a bit more then he needed and saving it for a rainy day. Eventually, the day came, and with a feeling of exultant joy, on his 17th birthday, he bought a ticket to America, where he would find riches and wine and women, and make his life the thing people dreamed of. Needless to say, he was rather disappointed when nobody waited on the dock to greet him with a trophy wife and a bag full of money.

He found his only option to survive, besides breaking his back hauling junk off of boats for a dollar a day, was to go back to his trade. He was a great success, and he was comfortable in a rented apartment, and always found the wealthy executives with bottles of champagne and unlocked windows. It was not particularly easy, but he was good at it, and he soon had a good enough base of contacts to stop selling things for a fraction of what they were worth. His life's ambition slowly transformed from doing good and owning a business, to making the big score and stealing the life he'd expected from the damned corporations.

When the revolution started to kick up tensions, he found himself more and more in demand, and as such began taking greater risks to get the sort of things they wanted. Guns, dynamite, deeds to businesses or properties, and eventually, as all such things must end, was spotted and slapped onto wanted posters. With the time to leave crashing through the front door of his building in the form of two policemen, he grabbed the pack he kept ready for such an eventuality, and ran. He managed to bum rides in the back of pick ups, and walked a fair bit, and eventually found a suitably distant town by the name of Killeen...

Equipment: Working-class clothes (khaki slacks, scuffed leather jacket, working boots, fingerless gloves, brimless hat {picture Saboteur), if possible silenced Colt M1911
Requested: Backpack, lock pick set, rope, concealed carry holster, flashlight, road atlas.

name: Skylar Damon
class/occupation: charismatic hero/entrepreneur
description: Skylar stands at about 5'5, somewhat unruly chestnut hair, with slightly pale skin, and a thin build. his face has a shrewd, calculating look on it most of the time, as if considering any and all things before him.
he is normally seen wearing what might have once been a stylish grey suit, but the dirt and wear from recent daily life has worn away most of the wealth and finery the clothes once showed. a worn brown holster rests on his belt, contrasting with the gray colors of his suit, a polished silver gun resting snugly inside.
personality: Skylar is a very guided person at the moment, due to the loss of his family's holdings. he was originally a very laid back, unmotivated socialite, trading gossip and rumors with the best of them. after the loss of his family's land, however, he became a far more jaded, manipulative person. it is rare now of days for him to revert back to his laid back attitude, often only occurring when he drinks, which happens more than he cares to admit.
he is currently focused on one thing, and one thing only, regaining what his family lost. he is more than willing to do anything to get to that goal, and as such, has chosen to support the rebels in their endeavors, hoping they will return the favor in victory.
background: Skylar was the heir to the Damon family, a local family of land owners that had existed in america since the first colonizations. they owned large tracts of land mostly leased out to farmers, earning the Damon family ludicrous amounts of money.
with his future seemingly set, Skylar often spent his time as most privileged rich-boys spend their time, partying and drinking. that all changed, however, when oil was discovered on his family's land.
when oil was struck in lands next to the Damon family lands, the many large corporations began clamoring to buy up rights to the local land, irregardless of who was currently living there, until the only land in the area not owned by a large corporation was the Damon family lands. unfortunately, this did not remain so.
despite vehement denials and protests by Skylar's father, the large corporations began a siege of terror on the Damon lands, forcing away the farmers that normally worked the land, and taking away Skylar's family's main source of income. with no farmers to work the fields, and no money coming in, Skylar's family was forced to sell their land, especially after vicious attacks by hired thugs destroyed his family home, killing the entirety of the Damon's except for him.
despite many protests and complaints, local authorities refused to take action against the large corporations, mostly due to the sway they had with the government. this led to Skylar becoming far more cynical, and losing any faith he had in the government. he hopes that by aiding and supporting the rebels with what little he has left to him, he can at least keep what happened to his family from happening to anyone else.

equipment: well worn grey business suit, pistol (derringer)
requested: cart, horse, tent, black market contact(s).

Name: Daniel (Dan) Parnell
Class/Occupation: Fast/ Military
Description/Personality: Dan is a slim man that is average height. Slim does not mean skinny however, he is military fit. The muscles ripple as he moves. He generally sports a sleeve-less shirt and a farmers tan, with ripped jeans covering his legs. The typical ball cap rests upon his head, covering his hair that is crew cut. His hair is jet black and eyes a nondescript brown. At first glance Dan seems to be a serious young man, who has grown up on the farm. However, it quickly becomes apparent that he is a practical jokester. His years in the military caused that side to diminish yet it will still show its head from time to time. He tries to get his hands on just about every kind of firearm he can, with the favorite being some kind of shotgun. He despises anyone that is not straight with him. If has a "fightin' side a mile wide," in the words of his father.
Background: Since birth there have been two things forced into Dan's head: farming and the army. His family has owned the farm they lived on for four generations. Three of those four generations have entered the US Army and returned to run the farm. At the age of 14 Dan decided to follow in his father's footsteps, however he had to wait four more years before enlisting. Those four years were agonizing for Dan, as he waited desperately for the time which he could enlist.
Finally, in 1924, He turned 18 and jumped at the opportunity in front of him. He spent four years in the military and got to the rank of Sargent. After his four years were expired, Dan was considering joining for another four. He was considered by many a bright young man and a competent soldier, however just before his time to decide arrived, Dan received word that his family needed him on the farm and if something didn't happen quickly they were going to lose it. So he returned to his home in Texas and just a year later the farm went under, leaving the family with nothing and a hatred for the country and military that they once so whole wholeheartedly supported.
Equipment: Basic clothes (typical farmer outfit), TBD
Requested: TBD
