Belnan shrugs and follws the dwarf, commanding the undead elf to follow him (Belnan). "Are we sure this is the direction we want to take? These two were headed in a Southeast direction, not West."

The dwarf nods, surprised that Belnan is questioning his directions. He responds, confidently, The orcs are housed in the stone. I'm not sure why the zombies were going in the direction they were, but I can feel the stench of the orcs in my bones. I can feel where they are based on where their stench is strongest in the stone.

Kolik followed in the back. Now that they were no longer stalking anyone, his skills weren't needed in the front. "Stupid, perhaps, but they led us directly to you," the sneak mused. Which was interesting- was it by coincidence or design? They still didn't know for certain. But if Belnan truly had the undead elf under his command, perhaps a simple test would yield an answer, or at least a bit more information.
He approached the gnome and whispered: "Does it follow your orders? Can you ask it to point towards their original destination?" Maybe the destination was a certain dwarf... |

Belnan nods, liking Kolik's suggestion. "A good suggestion, goblin. I shall give it a try." Belnan sidles over to zombie-buddy and loud enough for it to hear, commands, "Point to where you're destination was before you found us at the hut."

The afflicted stops shuffling for a bit and then appears to look around. It then tilts its head up and then down and seems to rub the ground with it's right foot for a bit. It then distinctively points straight into the ground underneath it with the pointer finger on it's left hand.

Martigan sees the gnome straggling behind then urges the other on by giving them a slight nudge to their backs moving them along faster.

Looking at Kolik, he gives the goblin a disappointed shrug, as if to say, "it was worth a try". He commands the elf zombie to follow and continues on behind the group, hurrying to catch up.

Kolik nodded, somehow managing to respond to both the gnome and the halfling in one economic movement. He didn't let himself worry about whatever lurked in the night- he was certainly the supreme lurker!- but still it was safer to remain with the group. Well, it had been. Now that they had added one soon-to-be zombie as well as an actual zombie to their number he was no longer sure...
For now, though, he decided against branching out to be unseen support. |

The dwarf continues on, seeming to be feeling slightly better or just using his characteristic dwarven determination to allow him to succeed in his quest. You walk a good ways and then begin to be able to see a rock face. Those of you that entered the dwarven domain are not sure if this is the same place that you were before.
__________________On the way over, none of you noticed anyone stalking you or even paying attention to you. You didn't even see any living or unliving creature around. Considering the advertized dangers of the night, that fact may surprise you. As you approach the rock face, the dwarf points towards a small but tall entrance of a cave. You all walk towards it, hugging the south face of the rock face. The stone does not appear different to you, but you see that the dwarf is visibly sickened more then he was when he wasn't by the stone. It could be that his affliction is taking hold or something else is going on. All of the sudden, you all see a mist appear in front of you. The mist is tinged red and eventually falls to the ground, revealing a dwarf armed to the teeth in firey red armour weilding an impressively large hammer. His beard appears to be made of expertly fashioned silver. Those of you who fell before may recognise this dwarf as Clanggedin Silverbeard. The dwarf that has been leading you instantly drops to the ground and seems to bow to the great creature. In response, Clanggedin holds up his free hand, gesturing for you to stop. |

Belnan's jaw drops open at the appearance of the practically-a-god dwarf, or perhaps the is-a-god dwarf. But for once, he can think of nothing to say, which is something surely only a god could accomplish, so the gnome decided Clanggedin must be an is-a-god dwarf.

"Red mist? That's ungood." Kolik stopped and took a few steps backwards. It could be poison- no, it was a dwarf- well, the difference was debatable. Anyway, it wasn't an ordinary dwarf; ordinary dwarfs did not bother with such grand entrances, nor armor colored bullseye red. The apprehension multiplied when he saw the reaction of the soon-to-be-zombie. A king, then, or some other very powerful figure of authority. "That's double ungood." His hand found the potion vial in his pocket, coupled with this terrain that complemented his skills perfectly, the sneak found the courage to stay with the group.

The dwarf that lead you here lays face on the ground, bowing to this grand looking god-like dwarf. The silverbeard speaks slowly and clearly. His voice sounds like music to your ears. You are stepping into the first of many dens that will challenge your intellect and braun greatly. I fear that you are not adequately prepared for what you are about to encounter.
__________________He holds up his hand and you see a mist come out around you, creating a ball of red mist between you and the outside world. The infected dwarf seems to notice nothing at all. Silverbeard speaks again, I will give you all a single skill that you will be able to use temporarily when the time arises. He clears his throat and closes his fist. The light of the world is taken from your eyes, but strangely you can sense where your companions are. You can sense the fine motions of each one of you. In fact, you can even sense that the sickness in the dwarf that brought you here. Clanggedin nods and you can feel it, even if you cannot see it. He continues, You will be able to use this skill twice each for two minutes at a time. Use it wisely and fight for the side of justice. You feel him open his hand and you look around, seeing just what you had seen before he had appeared. You no longer see the dwarf in front of you anymore. Kindli looks towards the stone and towards her companions. She says, quitely, Thank you. Neira nods in affirmation. Our lives may be indebted to you, temporarily. Kindli looks towards the hole in the wall and points, I think that's our cue to move forward. She looks towards the dwarf that is still clearly in pain and says, nonchalantly, You must prove your iron and lead into the depths of their lair. In this way, you will earn your place in the stone. The dwarf gets up slowly and nods, knowing that going first is the suicide mission. He looks determined to take it. Last edited by Magnai; 04-29-2012 at 09:26 PM. |

No, wait! We brought you the sacrificial Goblin as you demanded. Martigan can't keep a straight face as he watched the goblin's already serious expression. I'm just teasing. he's a right good one, that silverbeared.
