Belnan waves a hand in dismissal. "Good eyes or not, they won't be able to see us with my invisibility spell. The only thing we'd have to worry about is being heard."

Neira opens her palm and then slaps it to her forehead. Once it's there, she shakes her head, seeming to be disappointed in herself. She slowly unbuttons her ragged shirt, revealing almost blinding light eminating from her chainmail. It's clear that this is exactly what would be useful inside there. Neira says, Of course! Of course! I was so focused on other things that I completely forget Silverbeard's gift.
__________________She begins to speak more quickly and exitedly, We can use this against them. They don't know that we have this. We can use Kolik plus Belnan's invisibility spell. She looks towards Kolik and nods, Belnan's right. Even though they can see through the blackness, as long as they're not actually blind then they won't break the invisbility spell. She pauses then adds, They do still have one eye. It's more likely that you'll be safe, but you always have the be careful. Neira then looks towards Belnan and nods, Can you prepare two of those invisbility spells, just in case Kolik gets stuck somewhere? Would that be bad for your spell balance? It's just then that Martigan's song mentions Neitan. With that, the girls' heads snap towards the tall human. Neira then looks towards Kindli, who has a small, barely perceptable, smile on her face. It seems like the mention his name in such an honorable way surpised her. The dwarf just stands there, silent. Neira then walks towards Martigan and places a kind hand on his hip. She smiles at him warmly and asks, How does your sword work? Do you need us to help you for that? She seems to really want to help. She adds, Your song is much appreciated. It reminds me of the bards back home. Kindli sighs and allows you all to figure out what's going on. She stands up, still almost naked, and sits down at the other edge of the mouth of the cave. She plops down on her butt and has her legs spread a little bit. You can see her bosums raising abnormally high. It seems like she's deep in thought. Either that or she's feeling like a weight has either been lifted or not lifted from her mind. Unlike her normal talkative demeanour, she's now eerily silent. |

Belnan shakes his head. "No, I'm afraid I can't manage two invisibility spells or I will loose one of my most powerful spells, lightning bolt. So, we'll just have to be quick and efficient, or else the battle will start early and...unexpectedly. So, when do you want us to go and scout?"

Martigan begins to speak but with a bored tone to his voice like a drill instructor teaching his 50th group of people how to shoot a bow and arrow. my sword works as so. you cast your spell on the sword as if it were a person. it must be of the 3rd circle of magic or lower. When the spell is imbued into the sword and I injure some one with it, I may release the spell and have it target the person I struck with no chance of missing. Anything that can help me with my accuracy would be great too.
__________________Belnan, what spells do you have left currently? he listens while he smacks the wand of Detect magic in his hand wondering it the thing is busted when he tried to use it on his new items. but with his pearl out it should have told him that that was magical. |

Belnan raises his eyebrows. That could be a powerful weapon! "Of that caliber, I have a flamming sphere. Already used my lightning bolt, too bad really. Would've been an entertaining effect!".

Kindli suddenly speaks up from her little corner. She speaks tentatively, Well, you know that spell that Neira used to blast the orc's head off? She pauses, Well, I've got one more of those prepared. It's also third circle. When you look towards her, you can see a glint of a knowing smile coming from the left side of her mouth.
__________________Martigan's Detect Magic Wand suddenly spurts a little then begins working. It seemed that it had a little dust in it. You can tell that one of the heads on Bruu's double axe seems to glow slightly. It glows with an inspecific aura. You also notice from the corner of your eye that the shields glow profusely. The shields glow with a strong dark magic with a red tinge around the outside. After that interchange, Neira speaks up again, No, that's fine. We can probably do with just one invisibility spell. It seems like that lightening spell might be a little too powerful, especially with their penchant for the darkness. Methinks that anything that includes light sensitive portions will be... The little halfling grins, knowingly, especially useful. Looking around at the others and thinking about how tired they must be. She holds her hand out, palm down, and waves it towards the ground. She explains, There is no benefit to scouting right now. They're on alert and we are not ready to act on the information that we gain. It's best for us to make camp, make sure no one comes from the outside to help them and rest so that we are at full strength in the morning. She takes a bedroll out of her sack and places it next to Kindli's bedroll. She lies down and says, Methinks that we should act quickly on that sleep while Kolik takes the first watch. She then points to Martigan and adds, When you get tired and need sleep, wake Martigan and his madness will watch us for the remainder of the night. |

Laying out his bedroll, Belnan's eyes immediately begin to droop. He yawns. "That's the best advice I've heard all day!" Laying down near Kindli and Niera, he is already half asleep when he mutters one last thing, "Don' forget, also got my fire staff. Maybe...good fire wall..." and then snoring conquers his words and he is asleep.

Just put any spell in it before you go to sleep. it'll help me should they try to launch an attack. I'll take any spell you want to put in it. I'm not picky.... most of the time.
__________________when all is done and said, Martigan sets up a fire-pit as close to the mouth of the cave as possible tossing a large amount of wood, greens, and oil to get it started. this would allow him to find out if the cave had an exit since the smoke would allow the exit or it would be pushed out of the cave fast from the air rushing from the back opening to the front. if it only trickled in, he would know that either a passage was closed or there was no exit. The fire would detour anyone trying to exit it for sure and the smoke would quickly choke the breath from those that were inside. He tries his best to pull the EG1orc body off to the side covers it with canvas then quickly sets the logs on fire. The thickness of them and their freshness will insure a long, noisy, and smokey fire. He quickly turns in for the night and knocks out as soon as his head hits the bedroll. |

Martigan notices that there is a lot to the cavern that they rushed through. There's much too much space between you and where you fought the orcs to go back on your own. You imagine that Neira or Kindli wouldn't let you. Kindli walks over to her armour and grabs a small item. She walks back over towards Martigan and his sword. She seemed to walk around in her skimpy clothing without any regard for anyone or anything that was around. She kneels down and places her hand on the sword. You hear her mutter some words in dwarven, saying, Bring the power of light to my hand. With that, a light eminates from her hand and gets sucked into the sword. She looks over her shoulder at Belnan and says, Sorry, oh excited one, I've got a fire wall prepared so you don't need to use your staff and also a fire wall is a fourth circle spell. Then, without another word, she walks back over to her armour and lies down on the ground. She puts her breastplate over her, seeming to be a soft blanket or something like that. Neira leans up and holds her hand up to Kolik, seeming to thank him for standing watch first. |

After 2 hours Martigan wakes, dons his gear, stokes the fires. He picks up his sword and lets the weapon impart onto him the name of the spell cast inside of it while waiting for his gear to recharge.

Belnan mutters something in his mostly-sleep to Kindli that sounds a lot like "you'll drown the baby!" For a gnome who was so deathly afraid of sleep, Belnan had no trouble sleeping that night, a comatose sleep that did not end until he was awoken... |

Kindli's lack of apparel was thoroughly ignored by the goblin, whose libido only awoke once a year when the females were in heat. Once too often if you asked him. The halfling's hand was accepted with a nod and silence.
Kolik took his time in settling in to watch. He found a likely depression in the ground and sat down, wrapped himself in a blanket, piled his pack and weapons around him, and finally arranged his cloak to cover everything. The unhumanoid gray shape that was the result was not something anyone would connect with a guard, it slipped past the eyes and registered to the brain as "landscape". |

The watch was quite uneventful throughout the remainder of the evening and into the morning. It seemed like everything was quiet and no nature came around the cave at all during the night. Martigan also drew a little attention from the silence, but it didn't even seem like he was attracting or staving off anything from his presence. The forest was just silent. You may think that this eerie silence is, in fact, eerie or abnormal.
__________________When the sun comes out, both Neira and Kindli immediately stir. Neira seems to roll over onto the dirt and place her face down in the dust. She spreads her arms and mutters into the ground, looking like she's basically insane and like she is a wild creature that worships the dirt. Kindli, in the meantime, immediately begins donning her armour and seems to begin muttering a long prayer that seems to be associated with each piece of armour. You notice that as she does each clasp, the gold detailing of the armour glows slightly, seeming to infuse magical qualities to the armour. |

Belnan rolls over and stretches before he sits up, blinking blearily in the morning light. So soundly had the gnome slept that dawn had broken upon him unnoticed. That was a new occurrence! He glances at Niera's dirt posing, and claps in appreciation of her good worm-dance form. "Why Niera, I wish I'd known sooner you were an accomplished artist! I love worm-dancing myself, having earned the Li'l Squirrel Buddies basic AND advanced badges in the art at a very early age. Perhaps later we could worm one for our comrades, once we've vanquished he orcs that is. I'm tempted to join you now, but for the fact I have a lot of preparation to do!
And with that, Belnan pulled out his spell book and delved into his studies, preparing the entorage of powers that would surely win hem the day today! |
