The others run blindly through the maze, but Trent takes in every detail. "No." he says, his voice sharp but quiet, "Here." They had been ready to fall into the most basic trap a maze can offer; they chose the straight path, the path which seems the most expedient, but almost never is. Instead, Trent directs them towards a vine-choked alley, barely wide enough to fit a man. As they push through the foliage, winding through a series of dark alleyways, they find themselves climbing a stone stair to a series of low rooftops, where they can better see the layout of the city. "Never solve a maze from within when you can solve it from above."

As they reach the rooftops Ullgar turns to Trent, "Well done, and good thinking." He looks back at where the undead are moving through the streets. "It seems to me they are heading through to the right. It looks like their path will take them to the eastern side of the city," he points off towards the right of the group. Ullgar then scans the cities winding streets and alleys, "Yes…there is where we should go to avoid the undead." He gestures towards the rooftops at their left, along some winding alleyways that lead towards the northwest of the city, "That should keep us away from the creatures."

As they entered the maze like ruins, Belfegor almost heaved a sigh of relief. He knew these ruins, they were one of the things he'd read up on before they preformed the ritual. Ullgar was doing a stellar job of leading the group through the streets, but a strong sense of direction could only get a person so far. Using his knowledge of the lay out, Belfegor helped direct the group away from some of the still operative traps, mostly consisting of sudden pitfalls and dead ends as well as a nasty hidden rune that he wouldn't have noticed had he not been paying attention to the flow of magic and noticed the eddie that formed around it.
