Llecarud steps forth, ready for the task, and lets magical force of the earth course through her limbs, seize her mind with its fiery green fingers. Slowly, the symbols before her swirl and twist into discernible shapes. To her eyes, the symbols suddenly show with startling clarity the ancient symbols of the elements--earth, air, fire, and water. Each elemental symbol is represented once, engraved in the stone above one of the four alcoves. |

Llecarud immediately recognizes the symbols, as any druid should. But what they were here for she was not sure, whether it was decoration, or another riddle similar to the last door.

Llecarud inspects the alcoves under each symbol. Curious as to the reason for the openings, she decides to test out an idea. She moves to the Air symbol and leans in close, then takes a deep breath and blows into the alcove. Having expelled all her breath she stands back up and looks at the alcove for any change.

The alcove seems almost to inhale in response, and Llecarud can feel her breath almost drawn from her lungs as if by some invisible force. But after a moment, the alcove emits a gentle breeze, as though it has chosen to reject the air offered. Still, Llecarud thinks she might be on to something, though she feels she may need to alter her approach just slightly...

Llecarud smiles at the response. Her theory that the alcoves would react to their specified element was correct, as far as she could tell so far, though it seems there may be a little more to it than she thought. She turns her head to the others. The symbols, each is an element. Air, Earth, Fire, Water. Match the elements and they react. Air for air, earth for earth, fire for fire, water for water. Though there seems to be a little more to it. She turns back to the alcove before her to think for a Taking 20 on this one. No rush at the moment, so why ruin a perfectly good plan on a bad roll. :Pminute.

Which one is fire? When Llecarud points out the fire alcove to Cedrick, the bard walks over to it. He rubs his hands together, as if he were generating friction, and then claps his hands together. Fiery light Spell: Flare
Casting Time: 1 standard action Fortitude Save: DC 11 Dazzles creature for 1 minute (-1 penalty on attack rolls, Search checks, and Spot checks)bursts from the clapping of Cedrick's hands, feeding the fire alcove. Last edited by Stormhammer; 07-26-2011 at 10:24 AM. |

The light that erupts from Cedrick's hands seems to have no appreciable effect on the alcove.

Llecarud senses that some magic is at work here, more of the ancient magic of the Danaans, and that these alcoves are indeed meant to receive, in some manner, a sample of the element with which they are marked. There seems to be more to this puzzle than simply filling each alcove with common stones, wind, flame, and water, however... |

Llecarud stares at the alcove puzzled. There is magic at work here. Im sure of that. And the alcove reacts when met with its element. But there has to be something I am missing. Cedrick, you spent time with the danaan, any clues here?

Cedrick shrugged his shoulders. Not a clue. I wonder what would happen if we mix 'em up. Put water in the fire alcove. Earth in the air alcove.
