Theo's gaze never leaves the road, eyes staring intently beyond at something not on the road nor in the sky. "Jared is certainly not dead. A few holes in his wings will not be the end of him. And if you gave him Kenesaw's name, then he will certainly seek revenge. Kenesaw is no longer safe."
__________________He waves a hand as if brushing the notion away. "And besides, you're needed elsewhere. Sioux City is the location of your new employer." He finally glances at Edgar briefly. "If anything, congratulations are in order. Welcome to Department-7." |

"Woah woah, hold on now. What'dya mean by that? Do ya mean ta tell me that we ain't headin' fer Kenesaw no more? Eli demanded all at once. The claim that they were needed elsewhere seemed outrageous, ridiculous even. "Do ya mean ta tell me that all that **** we went through ta get this damn crate of food was pointless?"
__________________Just as Eli was about to explode with questions and accusations at the green mutant, he felt a phantom pain press at his side. That was the place Jo usually jabbed him whenever he got a few decibels too high, but... Jo was gone. As in not in the van. Something else felt off too. Eli couldn't put his finger on it at first, but his eyes widened when he realized that he couldn't feel quietly Sia staring at everyone. A quick look about the rear of the van confirmed that they weren't there. "Hang on ya'll, is it just me or are we missin' a few people? Where'd Jo and Sia get to?" he shifted his gaze between Ohanzee, Edgar, and Theo, his expression steadily descending into one of horror. No one was answering him, not that he gave them much of a chance to. "Where's Jo and Sia guys?" he asked again, trying to remember where everyone was during the fight. But everything happened so fast, and everyone had been screaming and fighting and dying all around him, making it practically impossible to keep an eye on his friends. "Oh God, oh Lord tell me we didn't... did we?" Last edited by Samulus; 07-09-2011 at 10:09 PM. |

"It's irrelevant now. If they didn't make it out, then they weren't strong enough to meet their destiny," Theo calmly replies. "Although such failures will not be tolerated in the future."

Ohanzee's eyes widen and he sits forward in the back seat, momentarily forgetting Rex. "I do not know this Department-7, but I do know that threats are no way to win people over to your side. Not if you expect true loyalty. Do you intend to have us join you under force?" He speaks calmly at first, but there are the first hints of anger in his voice. "If you do, you'll have some difficulty, but regardless I hope that you intend to somehow send word to Kenesaw so that we can warn them."

Edgar sits back in the passenger seat, taking the mutant's words in. As he puts the pieces of the puzzle together, he hears Eli's observation from the back seat. It takes him only a few seconds to snap his head towards the back, confirming it for himself.
"Turn back! We have to turn back!" Edgar looked at Theo, giving him a hard stare. He narrowed his eyes at the mutant after his statement. "Irrelevant MY ASS, I know Jo, she's a survivor. Take me back there, no one else has to go. I will go in myself and retrieve the two women. I'll kill every damn thing that gets in my way!" Edgar continued to rant about "Damn Mutants" and "Blasted Dragon-men" for a few minutes, ignoring everything else. Last edited by Ingo; 07-09-2011 at 11:25 PM. "If anyone has a problem with Department-7," Theo continues, placing emphasis on that particular word, "then you may take it up with your new employers once we arrive.
__________________"But don't sit there and act like you don't have a price. Everyone has a price. A man may have words that he believes are true with all of his heart, but come see him when he hasn't had a meal in four weeks, and that same man will tell you whatever you want to hear in exchange for even a sliver of radroach meat." Theo then responds to Edgar. "We will not turn around. You are an asset. I've spent too much time observing you and your comrades. My time is not free, and soon, neither will yours. "I would recommend, however, that everyone relax. Department-7 does not treat its employees poorly. You are all overreacting." |

"I will not stand idly by while someone I care about is in deep trouble! Never leave a man behind!"

Theo finally sighs. "This trip to Sioux City can be very unpleasant, Edgar."

With a determined grimace, Edgar releases the clasp on his handgun holster and pulls the weapon from its home, pointing it at Theo.
"Stop the vehicle, I'm getting out." |

Theo's sad, yellow eyes slide lethargically to the side of his moss-colored head.
__________________Then, in a flash almost too fast to follow, Theo's right arm lashes out from the steering wheel, while his left hits the window control, his knee taking the wheel. His right hand strikes under the barrel of the gun and up against Edgar's wrist, wresting control of it from him. Wrapping his fingers around the barrel, he jerks it back to his side of the van, hits the switch to eject the clip, grabs it with his left hand before it can fall into his lap, and tosses it out the window. Disinterested with the situation again, he rolls the window back up before returning his left hand to the wheel and his gaze to the road. This silence lasts for a few moments before Theo glances down again, seeming to remember he still has a gun in his hand. He gives a cursory look at Edgar as well, then tosses the gun back into his lap. "I'd really rather you not," he states apathetically. |

Staring dumbly down at the gun in his lap, in shock after what just happened, Edgar said nothing more. Then, narrowed eyes turned back to the mutant in the drivers seat, jaw set and hands clenched. After a few moments of staring hard at the man, Edgar began to look around, first at the terrain speeding by in a blur outside his window with a moments consideration and then straight forward.

Ohanzee looks up sharply at the commotion in the front seat. He is uncertain exactly what transpires in these moments, but he is certain that Theo is much quicker than he would ever have thought. He doesn't like feeling forced to work for someone he knows nothing about. Still, Theo could have easily shot Edgar but chose not to... maybe not all bad. "Warn the people of Kenesaw... find me a new bow... get me to a place where I can pull shrapnel out of our friend here... that is my price." Ohanzee says, rather bluntly.
