I absolutely love your idea for "Achievements" Hopefully Moridain gets on board and assigns rewards for them. If we add a few more negative ones, it could wind up hilarious. Imagine that you are better off getting convicted of treason then proving it away... Last edited by BangBangTequila; 09-30-2011 at 04:45 PM. |

Adding rewards would probably distract from the fact that we should all be acting in character, and our characters know nothing of them. I suggested it because it would be amusing to watch them tally up on their own.
__________________EDIT: A fair amount of them should be non-treasonous. This is a straight game after all. Last edited by NEON725; 09-30-2011 at 04:48 PM. |

I suppose. I'll be honest, I have faith that we wouldn't meta-game, but at the same time would so not begrudge anyone meta-gaming to get the Sucker Born Every Minute one, because realistically the positive benefit is not worth the risk, but I would absolutely waive the caution John normally would have for the sheer value of bragging rights.

Run-on sentences make me vomit. That one was two lines. lol
__________________Also, I ninja'd you probably, but I said we should make some non-treasonous achievements to steer away from the ZAP! style a little more. Plus, yeah, I want the sucker born every minute achievement. |

I added some non-treasonous ones. Also, to not use run-ons when it saves me the effort of using the delete key and re-typing things would be treasonous and I dislike being treasonous because it is bad for John's health.

Recurse: Get the Infinite Loop achievement.
__________________Infinite Loop: Get the Recurse achievement. A Sucker Born Every Minute: Sell a stolen object back to it's original owner without being caught. Son Of A Bitch: Fail to convict the same player of treason five times while having proof. Can't Touch This: Escape conviction from the same player five times despite them having proof. lol. ![]() Also there IS a reward system in the game already. They are called Perversion Points and are gifted when you do something particularly amusing or amasing, at the start of most new scenes ect. You can spend Perversion Points to upgrade your skills and specialities or, my personal favorate, to add or reduce the difficulty of your or other players rolls. You are also allowed to freely bribe other players with perversion points to get them to do or not do things. Deals accepted with Perversion Points as collatoral have a bit more binding than most, with fate itself punishing those who cheat a little. So if you give someone ten perversion to lose a picture of you holding commie propaganda, and they accept, and he then hands it in at debriefing anyway... He might find that he gives them another picture accidently, of him putting the propaganda in the characters bag... You start the game with 25 Perversion Points each, +10 for each noticable and lasting Tic your character has. A tick could be a severe stutter, the fact that he sucks on the butt of his laser constantly, perhaps he likes to walk around with no shirt on and showing off his rippled bod. |

And what about our current credits? can we use those to make purchases pre-game?
__________________Same with our Perversion points, could we, theoretically, spend them to bump skills? Last edited by BangBangTequila; 09-30-2011 at 05:56 PM. |

You can spend them to bump skills (though I dont have my book on me at this instant so can't tell you the cost). You can also spend them in character without needing training or the like.
__________________And yes, feel free to spend your credits if you wish. Note that I mistyped about costs: You get 1000 credits a week, and need to pay 1000 credits a week for your lifestyle. And there is no guarantee of a bonus at the end of a mission. You have to actually succeed after all.

Awesome! The costs are:
__________________Increased skill ratings: Increasing one of your six basic skills by 1 costs 5 times the new rating number in points. For example, raising Violence from 9 to 10 costs (10x5=) 50 Perversity points. You can spend points this way only at the end of a mission in Straight games, or at any time in Classic or Zap games. Increasing a skill rating doesn’t increase the ratings of its related specialties. Increased specialty or Secret skill ratings: A specialty or Secret skill rating increase of 1 costs 5 points, regardless of the new rating number. You can spend points when the GM allows it. New specialties: Each common specialty costs 20 Perversity points and starts at a rating equal to the governing skill rating plus 4. Each narrow specialty costs 20 points and starts at the governing skill’s rating plus 6. You don’t incur a compensating weakness when you buy a new specialty. You can spend points when the GM allows it. New Secret skills: Each new Secret skill costs 20 points. In Straight games the new skill starts with a rating of 1. In Zap games, roll 1d20 and halve the score (rounding up). For Classic games, the GM will tell you which method to use, depending on how keen he is to encourage characters with tremendous skill in Knitting or Chartered Accountancy. |

5x the new rating works. However if you read the book again you will find that it says that you can spend your points at any time in straight games.

Of course not, I would never mention that any excerpts I put up are purely copy and pasted...
