Hypnos's Lesson, The Realm Of Dreams
Ah, welcome to my home. It is nice to meet you, I am Hypnos. That heathen back in the mortal realm is known as Thanatos. He is an unruly brat to see the least but I suppose you can't pick family. He chuckles lightly his voice like honey. He didn't seem so bad for a demon. So, I'm sure you have many questions, don't be shy ask away. He smiled, it was obvious he did not intend any harm. |

Elef woke up in a groggy manner; the lights being both pretty and annoying at the same time as his vision was blurry still from waking and they seemed to be going everywhere. "Gah...seems like a hangover." He muttered to himself as he slowly got up to his feet an saw that the colors changed into those he knew of his past; his mother and his master, both here before him. He felt regret and shame from them about he left things and about all the things he never said to them; his emotions were running rampant. 'Why...Why mother?' Was his last thought as he wiped away the tears to see nothing but white in the room now, with his allies.
He saw a boy in white now in front of them, Hypnos was his name, from earlier and listened to his words. "Okay, how about; why did you take us here in the first place?" He said somewhat sarcastically as he reached for his halberd with his right hand; just in case, though he didn't wield it just yet. |

The last thing Javed saw before oblivion took over was the boy in white hauling the injured spellcaster, and it was the first thing he saw when he woke. He looked about in a truly confused manner, seeing the vivid swirling colors of the realm. He felt his body over. No wounds were immediately apparent. He looked at the brilliant white clad child, and backed away a bit, groping around behind him for his spear.

Haha, no chum I am not one worthy of worshipping. But that's flattering to say the least. He gave the foreigner a toothy grin. He then turned to the sarcastic black smith, I came here to teach you, for you have more then a few things to learn. His face turned hard for a moment as he looked the blacksmith over, trying to see if he was worth teaching. Do not be angry, I have saved you from a fate you are not ready to meet. Hades may not be there but that does not make his realm any less dangerous. He said in a bleak tone.

Veron groaned, clutching his head. He barely remembered what he had seen in his sleep, as the blow sent to him by Thanatos was severe. He could faintly remember having seen several priests and priestesses from the temple. He had seen noone lost to him, as for the most part he attached himself to noone. He noticed the white-clad boy.
"Hypnos," he muttered, bowing his head respectfully, although he couldn't bring himself to stand just yet. "I... I respect your magic greatly. You created Sleep for the mortals, or at least that is what I once read. I hope you do not mind my using of your magic in the service of another deity. I will gladly accept your teachings." Ari sits up and glances around. He briefly sees familiar faces that startle him, but when the world begins changing he realizes it's probably just a forced hallucination and shouldn't be taken at face value. The new demon boy speaks. Given how great the last experience went, Ari isn't eager to have a delightful conversation with his new host. When the boy promises to answer any question Ari immediately opens his mouth to ask "how do we get back," but a yawn stalls him just long enough for Elef to speak first. Good, they're taking initiative. I don't have to lead. I hate leading. Listening to the rest of the conversation play out it becomes clear that this Hypnos wishes to teach the group something, whether they want him to or not. With no clear exit sign and no desire to talk to any of the present company, Ari lays down into a relaxed fetal position, using his right forearm as a pillow. He closes his eyes hoping for, though not expecting, a relaxing nap.

Elef decided to listen to the creature seeing as how one, he brought them here and is more than powerful enough to probably kill them and two, he is more than likely their only way out of here so it would be best to do as he says. "I suppose we do owe you that..." He said as he slowly lowered his hand back to his side as he let out a yawn nearly a few seconds after he heard Ari yawn as well. He looked over to the man who had been thrown around as if he were a doll from the other demon, to see him in the fetal position trying to take a nap! 'How unprofessional...'

"I do have a question," Ari says when he realizes he's too frustrated to sleep, a fact that only irritates him more. "Why did you wait so long to intervene?" Ari sits up again. "You could have stepped in before that other kid thrashed us, before a fight even broke out." Ari stands. "Hell, you could have popped in and told us to go around where he was and helped us avoid the situation altogether if that was really your intention." Arygnus shakes his head. This room, this dimension, whatever it was, it wasn't "north", which meant they hadn't reached their destination. Anything that wasn't moving them toward that goal was only wasting time. Artemis had warned the boy that many of the other gods couldn't be trusted in this time when they were seeking mortals to make examples of. What better way to stall them than to take them to an inescapable plane and promise a lesson to keep them from even attempting escape. "You admit to being that psycho's brother, who's to say this isn't some scheme you two have hatched up? Who's to say we AREN'T sitting in Hades realm right now? Seems like a fitting form of eternal torment to me. Tch." Though it's difficult in his drowsy state, Ari circles a ways around Hypnos, keeping himself the same distance from the deity as he had started, but distancing himself from the group. He plops down indian-style. "The last kid wanted to play. I told him I hated games but he had the intelligence of a stone. If you're going to kill us, please do it. We can't do much to stop you, not here, so don't make it take an hour, just get it over with. If killing us isn't your goal then you must know we're on a very important mission and the more time we waste the more likely it is that we will fail. Keeping us here isn't helping us. Whatever your intentions are, let's get it over with. I hate child deities more than the regular ones."

Arygnus was truly getting on Veron's nerves. He resisted the temptation to send a spell flying at Ari, as the obvious dysfunction in the group may leave a deeper wound in their relations with the deity than anything the unwise boy could say. He got up closer, and spoke just loudly enough for Ari to catch the venom in his voice.
"I suggest that you do not get us in any trouble with Hypnos. He is being kind to us, and while it's unsurprising that you would be stupid enough to have a death wish before a benevolent being, I would prefer to live through this encounter with all of my limbs intact," he whispered. |

Durrodim is baffled at Ari's tirade. Doesn't he know true power when he see's it.

Aristocles was disoriented for a while, and he watched his mother and sisters flee by on one side, and a few lusty maids, each of whom jogged some pleasant memories, strut by on the other. Then he dashed those visions with a shake of his head, for he heard the others conferring with their savior.
He rolls his eyes when Ari speaks and speaks up after Veron. "Aye, pais (young boy), listen to your betters. Offend Hypnos and suffer the consequences every night. No man may stay awake forever, and even mighty Zeus may succumb to Sleep's drowsy spell." He turns to the god and bows deeply. "I am Aristocles, son of the Earth-Shaker and prince of fertile Phthia. What would you have of us, O Hypnos? It seems that your brother stands against Gaia, and you with- how can you aid us, and what other gods need we fear in our path?" |

Lydia rolled over, looking up at the crowd from on her back. She gave a light arm flail towards Aristocles: "Whichever ones would be the most painful to cross, of course. Though we've already covered 'vague instructions', 'random challenges of might', and 'sudden mysterious protectors', so that covers most of the bases."

Hypnos's eyes grew fierce at the immense amount of disrespect the ranger had shown him. He approached slowly as a zoo keeper would to a skittish animal, he placed his hand on Ari's shoulder. It was warm, but you still feel a chill go through you. You are young boy, so I will forgive your insolence, but know this I am not one to be trifled with. I intervened when I did to prove a point to you, YOU ARE WEAK. My brother may be a pompous fool but he was not wrong. If you even attempted to achieve the first weapon you would die instantly. He furrowed his brow concentrating intensely. Time is relative, a thousand years in my realm is nothing more then a day in the mortal world. He took his hand off your shoulder. Your words are kind wizard, you know well of the mannerisms of those better then you. He nodded politely. He then addressed the warlock, Do not attempt to lull me with sweet words, I will teach you things that you need to know. For now that is all you will hear. Finally he turned over to the druid in and the warrior, A pleasure to meet you. He chuckled lightly at the Druids joke.

I thank you for any chance to learn at your feet, and am sorry if I have offended, I only ment to show proper respect, Durodim replies honestly, not wanting to anger the powerful demon.

Artermisa has watched all this unfold unconcerned. The family she had fled from had been shown to her and she wasn't sure how she felt about this. Smuggling these thoughts to the back of her mind she had gladly welcomed the comforting nothingness. Finally she spoke her mind, "This Thantos, we will face him again? I would truly love to test myself agaisnt him, to show him I am not weak."
