Before continuing into the dragon's den, Flynn takes a moment to have a through Flynn uses a healing surge before the battle.stretch. I must be ready. We have tracked our prey to its lair. There will be no escape. But a cornered beast is always the most dangerous... Flynn had finished preparing mentally for the fight just before they reached Riyitachuak's den. He appreciated the encouragement from Nala's words, but he wasn't here for vengeance or justice. Not even for the bounty. This was Flynn's calling. He would become the greatest of all hunters. And the greatest hunters called dragons their prey.

The great green Riyitachuak lifted himself into the air, challenging them. Everyone immediately responded. Flynn's greatest asset was Minor Action: Skirmishing Stancespeed. If he was constantly on the move, he could keep his prey off-guard. Fixated on the dragon, he Move Action: Move from R11 to L14dispersed from the group, and began Standard Action: Twin Strike vs R (hit, hit for 25 damage)firing his arrows at the airborne beast. The magic in his bow caused his arrows to shine when they stuck in the dragon, Free Action: Targeting Longbow: Until the end of your next turn, you and your allies can roll twice on attack rolls against Riyitachuak and use either result.guiding his allies' attacks. Flynn continued to Skirmish Shot Effect: Move to F16 before attacking.run toward the back of the cave, trying to make sure his party was well spread. He pulled another arrow back to the limit of his bow, and Action Point: Skirmish Shot vs R (hit for 19 damage)fired toward the guiding light of his previous shots. Flynn finally came to a sliding stop a good distance from where he started, with his three arrows buried in his prey's hide.

After the fight with the elves, Traevin turned to Nala to ensure that she was ready for the next fight after the deadly barrage that hit her. He was filled with pride when she compared him to her mother as that showed just how much she appreciated him. "I help the only way I can. I am not the strong enduring warrior like you are. It is an honor to fight beside you, and as long as it is within my power I will not let you fall."

Taking a moment to focus himself before the next fight, Traevin knew that he would have his work cut out for him to keep everyone fighting against this dragon. As they moved into the cave, riyitachuak took of into the air, already making this fight more difficult than the last. Quickly Move from Q11 to K13separating from the group to avoid too much devastation from a breath attack, Traevin summoned his spirit companion on the SC in E9opposite side of the dragon from Nala. Riyitachuak roars loudly as he flies in a circle around the action, unleashing his toxic breath weapon on the return. Nala seems the most affected by this, and he takes advantage of it, approaching and taking a bite out of the goliath. Combined with the poison now in her bloodstream, she'll fall if she's not immediately helped.

Combat ActionsRiyitachuak: 208/295 HP (Stage 1), Marked[Nala], Attacks against you may be rolled twice (EO Flynn)
Minor:
Dice vs Will12:
d20+8sch12 (9)+8 Total = 17
Should be d20+6
Luring Glare targeting Flynn Hit! The dragon slides you 3 squares to I13.
Free: The dragon flies up to its fly speed and makes a breath attack at any point during the move.
Move to G9+2, H8+2, I7+2, J6+2, K6+2, L7+2, L8+2.
Breath Weapon targeting close burst 5 with corners G10, K14, includes Nala, Flynn, Traevin
Dice Attack vs Nala Fort15:
d20+8sch15 (9)+8 Total = 17
Dice Attack vs Flynn Fort14:
d20+8sch14 (5)+8 Total = 13
Dice Attack vs Traevin Fort15:
d20+8sch15 (3)+8 Total = 11
Dice Damage:
3d8+2 (5, 6, 4)+2 Total = 17
Move to K9+2, J10+2, I10+2.
Flyby Engagement (Provokes opportunity action from Fire Warrior!) Hit on Nala; 17 damage you are at 23 HP. Additionally, you take the following condition: "Slowed and ongoing 5 poison damage (save ends both), AFTEREFFECT: Slowed and ongoing 2 poison damage (save ends both)" Note: If you save against this effect using the poison antidote, you skip the aftereffect. Miss on Flynn and Traevin, halved 8 damage, you are at 19 and 24 HP respectively. The both of you take the following condition: "Slowed and ongoing 2 poison damage (save ends both)"
Standard:
Dice vs AC20:
d20+11sch20 (17)+11 Total = 28
Dice Damage:
2d10+3 (9, 7)+3 Total = 19
Bite targeting Nala Hit! 19 damage, you are at 4 HP and are bloodied. Additionally, you take ongoing 5 poison damage (save ends)*.
Free: Spend Action Point
Standard:
Dice Claw 1 vs AC19:
d20+11sch19 (5)+11 Total = 16
Dice Claw 2 vs AC19:
d20+11sch19 (15)+11 Total = 26
→ 2d8+3g (4, 3)+3 Total = 10
Should be d20+9 on each
Claws targeting Flynn One hit! 10 damage, you are at 9 HP.

*IMPORTANT NOTE: Although you have two conditions that inflict ongoing 5 poison damage, you will still only take 5 of that damage; when you have multiple conditions that inflict the same type of ongoing damage, only the highest applies. That said, you have to save against both instances of the condition separately. "Slowed and ongoing 5 poison damage (save ends both) +aftereffect" and "ongoing 5 poison damage (save ends)" are two completely separate conditions that both exist, and require one save for each. I know it's kind of confusing; if you don't entirely understand, say so, and I can give you a much more detailed explanation.

After coughing on Riyitachuak's poison breath, Flynn looked up at the dragon, who met his eye. Riyitachuak's gaze held Flynn for a moment. He had never looked so deeply into a dragon's eyes before... they held such greed... such malevolence...
*WHAM!* Riyitachuak's claws slammed into Flynn's left side. They pierced his armor and flesh, and the force knocked the wind of him. He didn't realize he had moved closer to the dragon while he was transfixed. Flynn did a nimble Move Action: Invigorating Stride: Shift to F16 (Uses second wind, +6 HP, +2 all defenses.)backpedal as he caught his breath. Whoa... I never wanted to be that close. He then Minor Action: Hunter's Quarry on Rscanned Riyitachuak's hide with the eyes of a trained hunter, noting which parts of his hide had more wear, while avoiding eye contact. He fired only a Standard Action: Fading Strike vs R (hit for 12 damage)single quick shot before Fading Strike Effect: Shift to D15ducking closer to the cave wall.

The dragons first attacks devastated the party. Almost taking Nala down in one round, and not being anywhere near as close to death as their first mark after one round, this beast would be a challenge. Sputtering from the poison, Traevin knew that Flynn was in danger, but that all his healing would need to hit Nala this round, his spirit companion moved to put itself between Flynn and the dragon. Reaching out to the spirit world Traevin sent a wave of warm energy to wash over Nala Nala spends a surge +1, Traevin heals 5healing some wounds, with some backlash healing his smaller wounds. After this Traevin knew they would have to bring the dragon down quickly. Traevin closed his eyes and summoned a river spirit which appeared in the air over the dragon. Nala paid the price for rushing recklessly toward the dragon. The green cloud Riyitachuak emitted paired with the viscous bite she had sustained, had left poison coursing through her veins, sapping all of her strength. Her vision had started to go blurry, and she thought she death was coming for her, until some of the pain was lifted from her shoulders due to the healing spirits of Traevin, who had healed her once again.

Armed with the knowledge that she had her companions to defend, Nala bounced back. She screamed to the rest of them, This dragon will not be the end of us. We have battled too long and too hard to fall today. This is not our destiny. Let's get him, boys!

Riyitachuak roars in pain as he quickly finds he's in deeper trouble than he originally thought. Still, dragons aren't known for cowardice; he continues to fight with every bit of vigor one could expect.

He arcs around once more, this time landing on the ground half way through, and blasts the party once more with his toxic breath weapon.

Flynn's wounded state encouraged his Minor Action: Razorclaw Shiftingbestial features to emerge. With a deep growl, his eyes changed shape, his teeth became fangs, and his hands now resembled claws. He lined up another pair of his Standard Action: Twin Strike vs R (hit, miss for 13 damage)deadly arrows, trying to aim them so they slip between the dragon's tough scales. One of them manages to stick deeply enough to draw a bit of blood from the green dragon's hide. "Your death is imminent, dragon," Flynn growled in a voice much lower than usual. Ever seeking a better shot, Flynn was on the Move Action: Move to A7 (reactivates Skirmish Stance effect)move again, bounding alongside the cave wall, behind the dragon. He stopped when he had a clear view of the dragon's other side, and just hoped he'd have time to reach for that healing potion in his pack before the dragon decided to turn his attention to him.
