Flynn was relieved that he did not end up regretting his actions. He had feared another devastating poison breath attack from the dragon, which could have proven fatal for them. Instead, Nala stood toe to toe with the beast, holding his attention and warding his attacks. "Excellent. Just give us some time, Nala. Hold him, and we'll finish him," Flynn thought. Rejuvenated by his healing potion, Flynn prepared another attack. He Standard Action: Twin Strike vs R (hit for 17 damage)launched a pair of his arrows at the beast, and immediately Move Action: Move to A6 (reactivates Skirmish Strike effect)fell back toward the cave wall. "Keep moving, strike from different angles." Flynn reminded himself.

Traevin could see that the blasts of poison were taking their toll on the party. He was running out of healing, but more importantly he could see that they were reaching the end of their endurance. After fighting all day and ending with a fight against a foe as strong as riyitachuak was not easy. Traevin knew he had to find a way to help keep Nala fighting so she could keep the winged monster's attention. He SC in K11summoned his spirit companion behind the dragon and then summoned a cold blast which shot out from his extended palm. The blast hit Riyitachuak, and a white mist burst forth with ice spikes that Wrath of Winter vs. Fort, targeting R

It was apparent that the dragon was weakening, but then again so were they. He knew that if they were to win they would have to finish the dragon soon and his long ranged spells weren't cutting it. With a sign Jack Move to F7ran towards the beast. He didn't get to close, but made sure he was just within range of his spell. Slaming his staff on the ground he Thunderwaveblasted Riyita in its side as it was so focused on Nala.

Nala barely stifled a cry of pain as the green sunk its venom-enhanced teeth into her shoulder. She immediately gritted her teeth, fighting off the poison's lingering effects and lashed out with vengeance. For the first time in several attempts she struck the beast successfully, re-opening a wound that had begun to close in the dragon's scales.

Focus! Flynn drew a pair of arrows on his bow. Nala can't fight a dragon all by herself. It needs to die, NOW! He let the Standard Action: Twin Strike vs R (hit for 18 damage)projectiles fly, aiming for the dragon's already bleeding wounds. One arrow found its mark, so Flynn Move Action: Move to A10 (renews Skirmish Stance effect)moved to a new position, as usual.

Traevin saw that the fight was coming to its conclusion one way or another. Both his allies and he dragon were going down, Knowing he was out of range of reaching Nala to help her, his best option was to bring Riyitachuak as close to death as possible. At long last, with a final roar and a loud thud, the beast falls motionless on the ground, and not a moment too soon; one more well-placed breath weapon could have spelled the end for everyone.

As you leave the former lair of Riyitachuak, you notice a glint in the air above. Sunlight shining off the surface of a metallic dragon's scales. The dragon looks down at you and approaches, descending from its flight and landing in an area sufficiently far away, but close enough that he can speak. He is rather small, but still clearly big enough to be of Young age. His scales are a metallic grey shade, that of steel. He notices your looks of bloodlust; you've killed two dragons, how hard can this one be? He responds with a calm and collected voice, in Common.

When Riyitachuak finally fell, after what seemed like an eternity, Nala relaxed. Although she had come close to death several times, most of her companions were relatively unharmed. You have performed, well, she said to herself. She turned toward Alister and Traevin and said, Thank you both for helping to keep me alive. I again owe my life to the fact that you were looking out for me.
And then to the entire group she said, Come, let us leave this foul beast's lair and... She stopped abruptly at the sight of another dragon and promptly redrew her sword and shield. Why are we to believe you beast? Have you been watching us? It is pretty convenient for you to arrive just after we have finished our toughest battle yet. As she spoke, Nala strained her memory to see if she had any Dice Nature check:

Allister collects himself after the battle. The feeling of despair and faliure washes over him as he reflects on this battle and his inability to connect his powers to cause damage when they were needed.
He tenses as the dragon appears and listens intently to the words that are spoken. The thirst for revenge on all wyrms begins to rise as he tries to conrol his rage waiting to see what his companions do. |

The steel dragon takes a couple steps back. Perhaps his timing is less than optimal.

"A dragon out to hire dragon slayers to hunt another dragon?" Jack asked aloud sounding a bit startled by the concept. "That certainly wasn't something I expected..."
