Okay! Everyone for whom I have a background and character page up has a secret thread. Girlplay, you're fine if you want to post your character in the character thread. Kind of interested in a psionic barbarian! Anyway, I think I'll post in the main thread when I get all character backgrounds in and we'll do the secret threads as a side bar to establish goals and NPCs.

I have a question regarding the Uthgardt barbarians. The books are pretty scarce with information on their culture, actually. I haven't read any of the novels that have an Uthgardt as a character, so I'm actually pretty ignorant as to what they're like. Barbarian has been used in our world to describe basically anybody that's 'not as civilized as us'. All the books really say is that they're a warrior culture that lives in the wilds. Often, D&D peoples have their culture drawn from real world examples. "These people like the Aztecs," for example. Are Uthgardt like any Earth culture? Should I be thinking along the lines of... Mongols, Native Americans, or... Goths? How do you interpret them?

I see the Uthgardt barbarians as a Native American people. They are nomads but live in specific areas. They all worship specific beasts, your tribe with the Thunderbeast, the Grey Wolves, the Sky Ponies that sort of thing. They usually avoid big cities and worship Primal spirits, though if they worship a deity it's almost exclusively Tempus.

Thanks for the info. Since they are more Native American in style, then I'll go with an appropriate name. Her name probably originally given to her because of her flightiness, but came to refer to her ability to move things like a strong wind.

My character sheet is mostly done now. I just need to fill in the details of her powers. Otherwise, I think I've pretty much got it.

Thank you. My wife's grandfather died in his sleep Tuesday night, so I'll be going out of town in the next day or two. We're both grieving but trying to make it.

Okay, I'm back! I'll be posting in everyone's private thread as quick as I can, hopefully update everyone's today.

SO, question about that. I'm anxious to get the game rolling. Does anyone have any problem with me updating the main thread and continuing the private threads, or would you rather me resolve everyone's private thread first?
