My guess is that it's likely you can be whatever kind of mage you want, as long as you look for the right feats and such.

Yes. There are numerous feats specifically dedicated to pyromancy, as well as fire magic spells. Searing Spell and Bloodline of Fire are both feats to enhance your fire spells, and there are iconic fire spells at each early level: Burning Hands/Kelgore's Firebolt at 1st, Scorching Ray at 2nd, Fireball at 3rd. After that they start to get more obscure.

Depends on what you want.

I reccomend going sorcerer. Since you're only casting fire magic anyways, the fact that you have to pick and choose your spells doesn't bother you as much. I'd reccomend going a race with +cha or a floating +2 (put it in cha).

My word, thread necromancy at it's finest.
__________________To successfully be a blaster you must do the following : deal massive damage and ignore any damage reduction the enemy might have. To do this takes a bit of splat booking and research as you run into several issues. 1) How can I mitigate the metamagic cost, 2) Sorcerer is the best blaster, but metamagic enhancements make it a full-round action to cast spells, and 3) avoiding the bad spells. I won't go into detail because, like I said earlier, if you want to know it would take quite a bit of research and the acquisition of resources. Here is the elaboration. |
