i was a firefoxer for years, but chrome is a god send for browser use. should def look into win-tweaks. i'm running a dual boot xp-black x64 and win7 pro power-tweaker on the laptop.

ccleaner, defraggler, tcpoptimizer... great investments, too

Anyway, what are we doing as a group in Chasdale? We have a forest fortress to infiltrate/assault, maybe, but I'm not entirely clear on what our objectives are. I hope the game can pick up again soon. Personally I've been finishing up finals. I've written so many papers recently that I needed a breather before posting again on this site at my regular rate. :/

Well, the fortress is actually 6 miles north of Brettney which is itself another 17-18 miles out of Chasdale, and it's actually Shiber's group that's to be infiltrating the fortress, but not for another 4 days (it's now midday on the 16th of January; from the information you've obtained they plan to assault the fortress the evening of the 20th).

However, there may be invaluable information obtainable in Chasdale relating to the plans, objectives, or for that matter the whereabouts of/lore about the ruby - the guild IS based here, after all, and the bards led the half-party here. Part of it is very simply that Chasdale's on the way to Brettney.

(Not to mention it's entirely possible Shiber's band is in Chasdale at the time of your arrival. Brettney isn't exactly the most well-equipped place to hide a full garrison of what essentially are bandits who will probably have to be fighting other, unaffiliated bandits at the fort for any more than a single night, if that).

Yeah, I was a little fuzzy on that, too. Thanks for the guidance, bulb. Looks like it's time for the group to get their heads around a plan, then. I'll have something up in a couple hours. Not that I'd mind being beat to it...

Seems like we should pull another split-up to me. Some of us can fish out Shiber/gather intel, some could look for/research the ruby. Maybe someone could go on to Brettney to put feelers out there as well. I wouldn't mind that role myself, if the group would see it/me fit, though I could also be helpful in either of the searches.

Had a busy weekend and am working on a map of Chasdale right now, so that everyone knows.

Also, the size of the city I inadvertently made Chasdale actually suits a population of closer to 50,000 than 30,000, though this could be justified by the census-takers not counting the slum areas

How should we handle this guy? What exactly are we looking to get from following him? Info on the rebellion given his supposed connection to the Bavendacks?

Yeah, my last semester burned me out more than I expected. But I'm back in business now. I really hope this game sticks around because I'm enjoying it a ton so far.

I've found that other games sometimes lag whenever there is very open-ended decision making. The mechanics of making group decisions by forum post are tedious, apparently. If people want to step up and make decisions assertively then that could help grease the wheels.

I figured it was mostly end-of-semester/Memorial-Day/etc. type of stuff.

If you want the game to be even slower, I could always trigger a battle. Combat tends to slow it down even more for some reason

for me it was 6 day work weeks, with holiday, and trying to organize everything for the move to IL. add to that i have no internet where im at now (tethered through my EVO lol) all hell done broke loose.

but im here now.
