Just to give everyone a sense of how this is going to work:
Once everyone gets their factions built and their assets purchased, I will create private Game Threads with any other faction upon request. There you will be able to do your negotiating/scheming/threatening/etc., which will in turn help you decide what orders you are going to assign to your assets each turn. |

I've... never even heard of the Arkham Horror game before now... I suspect there may be a number of fails on my part before the game is out...

Alright! The game has officially begun! Just reload the game link (http://www.factionrpg.com/game.aspx?...d-532e9a084d6d) and you'll see your current Intelligence and you'll be able to change your orders from the default.

right in the middle of a Arkham Horror boardgame session, actually.
A friend and myself are going through all the ancient ones in the core box one by one.(5 done, 3 left) Azathoth was the first one, woke up due to 0 monsters being left in the cup.(automatic loss due to it's awakening effect) Yog-Sothoth is the 2nd one, woke up due to the nr of open gates being too high(due to it's slumber effect). I died as soon as the battle started from the awakening effct, and I was the only one who could harm it :P) so we lost that one too. Hastur was the 3rd, he woke up due to gates filling up his doom track.(we couldn't seal em most of the time due to slumber effect) The king in yellow, however, was soundly beaten back into slumber in in that battle. The 4th, Yig, went similarly to Hastur. We had to kill far too many cultists that time XD. The lizard, however, didn't like the taste of tommy gun lead, and went back to sleep. Nr 5, Cthulhu itself, woke up due to gate count, with his regeneration (and -6 combat penalty) ensuring we couldn't kill him fast enough before it killed us. still, 3 to 2 is not a bad result in this boardgame Our current game is against Ithaqua: 8/11 doom track, 3 out of 6 sealed gates, 2 open gates. I only own the core box, though I have played some of the expansions as well. Which, btw, tend to make the game even less merciful then it already is XD |

I have a weird relationship with that game. I've lost twice, out of dozens of playthroughs. I've doublechecked, and we've played by the rules thoroughly. I even checked with some forums, and I think we've just been insanely lucky. We usually had 5-6 investigators. Bizarre, really.

Or is that custom set of loaded dice paying off? Joking aside, how many expansions (if any) were used during those 2 lost games? |
