FF7 was incredible because it was my first true experience with RPGs. Its what started it all. Perhaps my love for it stems from the fact that i've played it nearly a half-dozen times. Perhaps its because of the amazing villains and awesome story. Perhaps its because I was never really that into Areis. All things considered it was a beautiful game that takes me back to being in the 6th grade.

The more recent games are mind-blowing on a graphics level. I'm not as into the story of the recent Final Fantasys, but the graphics make me want to live there. I have yet to play FFXIII-2, but I will probably pick it up despite the "sure-to-be-lacking" story simply for the graphics.

My RPG start came from Shining Force, Legend of Zelda, and Dungeons and Dragons the Arcade Game.

But like I said, my favorite RPG I've ever played was Legend of Dragoon.

Omg. I just realized a few things. 1) I can hook my laptop up to my TV through HDMI. 2)I know how to emulate Playstation 1 and 2 on my computer. 3) PS3 controllers work with PCs. 4) I can replay all my favorite PS Rpgs now! Woooot!

My own RPG start came from FFVIII which personally I thought took VII and improved on the characters, story, graphics and gameplay. Though VII is often, and rightfully, recognized as great it was still a little funny to play as fat baby avatars.

Since FFIX I have been getting more and more bored with the Final Fantasy games.

 

FFX was fun until I found out the main character was a figment of somebody's imagination. That just pissed me off.

My favorite RPG, and I have played it recently with renewed faith, is Zelda: Ocarina of Time. That game revolutionized RPG gameplay and literally made it 3 dimensional.
