Yes, but this assumes you actually have food for 1 TU in your inventory. The rule above considers that this might not always be the case. So you trade something worth 1 TU (e.g a bullet) for the an equivalent worth of sustenance, which is then consumed and, thus reflects your -1 TU per day upkeep.

(e.g At the start of every day, Alice's player must subtract a total of 1 TU from her character sheet. If she possesses a food item worth 1TU, then there's obviously no need to trade, she can simply consume the food item and subtract the TU it was worth. If however she does not possess said food item, she must trade an item from upkeep to acquire it, after which, it is consumed and, again, a TU is subtracted.)

That's what I was explaining in the answer to your last question:

You'll only be getting more if your character is good at haggling. Usually you trade something you don't need for something that your character can use. The TU value of what you trade will usually be equivalent to the TU value of the stuff you receive in return.

I believe all characters are ready right now and I've started writing up the prologue. I plan to have it up by tonight or tomorrow.That said, if you think you won't be able to commit to the game over the next few days, It might make things a tad difficult. Of course I understand that RL issues come first, but on my end, I cannot afford to delay the game start by too much longer if the majority of players are ready and willing to begin.

This game will observe a 48 hour posting rate, meaning I have 48 hours to post after all players have updated, and likewise, every player has 48 hours to post his reply once I've updated.

In light of your current IRL troubles, this means one of two things for you. Either I NPC Keller through the first event, or your character passes on it altogether. How this translates for you in game will have to be determined when you are fully ready to start.

I know this sucks, but for now, this is the best I can offer.

Ok, makes sense now. By WHATEVER means we must eat each day. We either have it or must get it. Thanks for your patience with this.

It also sounds like if I get some good rolls I could conceivably gain TU via a trade. While not likely, I could find someone desperate for bullets that has extra food. I know that in the book merchants really can mess you over, trading something for a high TU value for something else worth very little.

I'm guessing you've all gotten a glimpse at the prologue last night, as I unintentionally left it public for a while. Now, without looking it up, who can guess, what I might be talking about in the Prologue's title.

As for your question. Well, my Catholic education tells me a baculus is a symbol of religious authority, usually a staff or crook. What buildering baculus means I don't know, unless it's a play on words stemming from your rather obvious enthusiasm for Breaking Bad (good show, btw - just saw Netflix has season 4 now, which I'll have to get to soon).

Here's the answer for you guys.

Buildering is a similar word to canyoneering, it the sense that it's not actually an accepted word. It refers to urban climbing. Here's the wiki on that

As far as Baculus goes, Nimlos was correct with his answer. one thing though is that the term doesn't pertain to religious symbols exclusively. It can be any symbol of authority (In the form of a staff or scepter).
