Danys' arms feel the force of the solid hit. The last of the small flying bee-like creatures smashes against the wall of the cave with a thud and slides down slowly in a sauce made of blood and dirt.
Combat is over. Actions are open now. Last edited by Alegria; 03-04-2005 at 01:05 PM. |

I am guessing you meant Danys' arms feel the force of the hit? anyway
Danys wipes bee goo off of his greatsword as well as he is able. Perhaps using a piece of bee chitin. Using his sword like a long lantern, he peers around the niche where the bees were, looking to see if they have any goodies lying around. |

All Danys sees is rock when he looks around the chamber with the two columns and the bee-like creaures. In fact, the lack of anything BUT rock suggests that this was probably NOT the monsters' permanent home.

The minotaur did nothing but stare at the fallen monsters for a few moments. There was a silence to be seen in this place, now that combat had been complete. The arrogant creatures were laid to rest, pain their escort to the next world... if there truly was one. Dishonor was theirs, for they had been bested in battle.
It then looked down and rubbed its shoulder in the spot where Nym had collided, ruining his spear throw. And then, its eyebrows knitted together, its face darkening, and it calmly walked over to where the creatures lay spattered across the cave floor. It stopped next to Nym, and locked gazes with him. Nym found himself the subject of a withering glare from a minotaur nearly twice his size. The creature stooped down and retrieved the spear it had thrown, turned and began walking north. It stopped after a few steps, though, and turned to face Nym once more. "Deny me battle-kill ever again," it said in a deep, even voice, "and you shall die." And not staying to hear Nym's response, it continued northward. Last edited by Kirby; 03-04-2005 at 01:16 PM. |

Nym matches Thrann's gaze, not wavering as he stares up at the huge beast who towers over him. He simply nods and puts away his club, removing his longbow once more. As he watches him turn north, Nym shifts his gaze to follow the massive creature, suddenly wondering if Thrann is really going to be an ally.
__________________But then a heavier realization strikes him, as Nym realizes that he used to be quite like the minotaur: living to kill, and killing to live. He shakes that thought from his mind, then silently follows after Thrann, keeping a good distance between them. |

Leaving the dead flying bee-like monsters behind, the group turns north again. The cave remains silent except for the sound of your foot steps on the dirty cave floor and the breathing of the large minotaur.
Combat Map updated. Please let me know if you prefer a different position in the party arrangement, then we'll continue north. |

As you head north, you encounter a more interesting room. The chamber is roughly twenty feet in diameter with a large, three foot high boulder in the middle that seems to have fallen from the ceiling twenty feet above.
On the far side of the room is a shelf decorated with columns, stalagtites, and stalagmites on the left side and a large, beautifully smooth flowstone on the right. Two small tunnels, barely able to fit a medium-sized person, disappear into the wall behind the ledge. On the left side of the chamber are two alcoves and an exit leading west. You can not see the inside of the alcoves from where you stand at the doorway to the chamber but you can't imagine them being terribly deep. You begin to detect the faint scent of water in the air but this room looks relatively dry. Combat Map updated. |

Sierr loads his crossbow again, tightly nocking it as quietly as possible. He scans the room for any activity or obvious objects.

Sierr sees nothing unusual as he scans the room, loaded crossbow in hand. Danys circles around the minotaur and lights the two alcoves with his sword. The alcoves are both empty except for a five foot tall, violet-colored mushroom standing in the very back of the first alcove.
When the the light hits the mushroom, it lets out a piercing noise like a young girl squealing at the top of her lungs. The high-pitched screech echoes through the cave and there is no doubt that your presence has been officially announced. Combat Map updated. Everyone roll initiative. |

Thrann: AC 20, HP 15/22
The minotaur clapped its hands over its ears at that, his eyes scrunched up in pain at the screams the fungus was somehow putting forth. Tilting its head in a vain attempt to mitigate the intensity of the sound, the big beast raised its greataxe and charged straight at the mushroom. It was intent upon silencing the strange plant, one way or another.

[Kirby, plants are immune to criticals]
Sierr winces at the sound, but shows more caution than at least the minotaur and remains put until he sees something more enticing to his crossbow than a mushroom. Initiative Dice Roll:
