Her party currently has Xar, Morianton, Jaheira, Kahlid, and Imoen. Hopefully she'll pick up Minsc soon scince he is by far my favorite NPC. Though it would be fun to have him Xar, Edwin, and Danyier in the group. |

What is really cool about it though is that I get the play the game again "for research" LOL. Gamebanshee has been my best friend when planning the game.

Balinor: Hmm, looks like an interesting place - may have to check it out some time. (Incidentally, I found a nice Chinese sword site recently: http://www.chinesesword.net/Items.htm)
rasone77: Oh, NPCs - that works out better, then. I am actually still in the middle (well, near the beginning, really) of Baldur's Gate 2 - not so much time to play games these days, so the going is slow - so no spoilers, please! (The bold just to let everyone else know as well...)Interestingly, 2nd Edition rules for Red Wizards really DO give them extra spells - so every Red Wizard of Thay has 3 spell slots at 1st level. Basically, they rock.

I just finished Baldur's Gate 2 (incidentially I never played the original). I have the expansion, but am holding it off in favor of a dual-classed berserker-mage. And yes, Minsc is the best NPC.

I have two ongoing Baldur's Gate 2 games - a wild mage PC and an imported (from Baldur's Gate) dual-classed fighter/thief (with grand mastery in long sword and 19 Strength
). It's quite fun sneaking behind unsuspecting foes and then watching them blow up after the backstab does like 78 HP damage... ![]() As for money, in Cormyr, the money is: Copper Thumbs = cp Silver Falcons = sp Blue Eyes = ep Golden Lions = gp Tricrowns = pp But we'll assume that's what Balinor (and the others) have. No currency exchanges until the next time you all leave the country...

Sorrry it's been awhile since I posted you guys...I recently went and spent some time with my dad and his family while I had off of school for Mardi Gras. Also, I'm having a complicated Internet situation at the moment, so I might not be able to post as often as I'd like to for a while. I'm gonna try my best to keep up with the game, tho

Just thought I'd let everyone know how I feel about the entangle spell.
__________________It sucks!!! It is the absolute worst spell you can ever cast unless everyone in the party is a missle slinger. I mean I really hate it almost as bad as Finger of Death. On a side note: I hope you don't die Syka.

Well, if Ceclit lives through this I'll keep in mind your ideas about entangle. I was thinking I could get it stuck, but I forgot how few of us have missile weapons. If he does die, I guess I'll just have to roll another character. After all, I don't want to quit over an unlucky hit.

Oh, come now - it has its uses. For example, what if you want to run away from a bloodthirsty group of orcs armed with only axes and swords? Not only does the spell affect multiple enemies, chances are that only a few will make their saving throws - so you can also use the spell to pick off a few of them at a time, while not worrying about the rest of them until later (1 turn later).
As for death - well, don't worry about it so much... As DMs go, I am pretty nice (I think...)...

I agree. However. i think we should have been given the an option when faced with going into the affected area. I mean, it would have been apparent to all but very low inteligent individuals that the area was under the spell effect. We would have seen teh vegetation become "hostile".

I'm sorry - I assumed that you all were role-playing that way (as most of you follow warrior gods or are warriors) - I thought you wanted to "risk" it (take the saving throws). Also, as your PCs are currently "greenies" - well, a little inexperience is fun at the beginning, too.
Next time, I will give out a warning as well - hope I can have a yellow card for now. ![]() Ed |

I was rollplaying so to speak. I was risking it as well. However I forgot how much different saves and DC were vs 3.5. I figured his save DC was no more than 15. ie 10 + Ability score modifier + spell level 1. Making it 10+4+1 Tops. I suppose its totally different.

Sorry man...there's no "DC" in 2nd edition. I believe the mechanism for achieving the same effect is generally to have the DM impose a penalties/bonuses to saving throws that he deems particularly easy or difficult (or, in the case of some spells/other stuff, saving throw penalties/bonuses are included in the rulebook description).
