Providence runs over to the fallen druid, struggling to get through the writhing enchanted vegetation. Upon reaching him, she whips off her cloak and tears it into rough bandages, which she proceeds to apply to his wounds to slow the blood loss. Morninglord, she silently prays as she works, I'm sorry for my disrespect in your temple earlier. I swear I'll honor you and your servants much more humbly from now on. Please, just let all of us survive this. |

Note: Jonathan cannot turn undead yet! (Paladins gain this ability at 3rd level.) However, Zook can... (as his player is busy right now, you can roll a 1d20 for him to decide success, or otherwise I will myself...)
Also, remember that entangled PCs are not helpless - they simply can't move to another location (but can do any other action, such as attack, cast spells, use special abilities, etc.). Balinor can attack as well, but because he rolled a Critical Miss last round, he will only have one attack this round. |

Tabatha dig’s though the pack that was just thrown to her. Franticly looking for some flint to light the arrow with. She found the flint down towards the bottom of the pack, now this would be the tricky part getting the arrow to light.

Sorry, but only Balinor gets extra attacks per round (as a specialized single-class fighter, he gets 3 attacks per 2 rounds). Jonathan will get extra attacks at higher levels. (The second attack roll missed anyway, but...)
I will wait a bit more for Balinor's post, but if there is no post for a while, I will just assume that he attacks? (Since there is not much else for him to do...) |

Extraneous Dice Rolling:
Jonathan: Initiative:1d10:2+8=10 Providence: Initiative: 1d10:10 Tabatha: Initiative: 1d10:10 Zook: Initiative:1d10:2+3=5 Balinor: Initiative:1d10:3+5=8 ???: Target:1d4:2 (Providence) THAC0:1d20:18 Damage:4d4:8 Zook quickly pulls out his holy symbol, boldly commanding the rotting undead creature to be gone. The monster pauses, moaning for a moment, but unfortunately seems to be unaffected. However, during this short pause, Balinor seizes the moment to swing his left long sword in a diagonal slash downwards, spraying stinking green gobs of flesh everywhere, doing 18 points of damage (critical hit!). Using the same downward momentum, Balinor picks up his dropped right hand sword as well. While the monster reels and shudders at Balinor's powerful blow, Providence rushes forward into the entangled area to bandage Ceclit's wounds, while desperately murmuring prayers to Lathander. As Providence wraps her now tattered robe around the prone Ceclit, his breathing calms as she stops his blood loss, saving his life. Jonathan now pulls his two-handed sword back to heave it into the reeling monster, but the flailing monster bats the weapon away before it hits! Simultaneously, out of reach of the monster, Tabatha manages to create some sparks that light up her oiled arrow. Finally, the now nearly obliterated monster heaves a front limb to rake the now entangled Providence for 8 points of damage! Screaming in pain, Providence falls down to the ground, and calls out as she starts to lose consciousness. However, suddenly, her body begins to glow a rosy red! Causing the monster zombie to halt, the radiance slowly grows, spreading to surround the bodies of not only Providence, but also the fallen Ceclit, and then Jonathan, Balinor, Zook, and Tabatha, all of whom begin to float! Suddenly, both Providence and Ceclit wake up, fully conscious, and notice that their wounds have disappeared! The party members float up and out of the entangled area of effect, and then land on the ground about 30 yards away from the now nearly-destroyed monster, who is still slowed by the writhing plants and weeds. Providence has a strange look on her face, as if she is listening to something, but there is no sound. The rosy radiance begins to fade away, and the monster starts to struggle to move forward again. All party members are now back to maximum hp and conscious, and at a safe distance from the monster, who is however still trying to attack. Ceclit has lost his memorized spells, but is otherwise fully functional (if a bit shaken). Tabatha's arrow is still on fire. The monster is in really bad shape at this point. Also, Providence: check your Private Thread.

Jonathan looks around confused but only for a second before getting out in front of teh party but away from the weeds. He waits patiently for the monster to saunter his way. "Stay back, let it come to us." Jonathan says calmly.

"W-what happened?" Ceclit shakes his head and tries to regain focus. He quickly looks at his surroundings and seeing the monster mentally prepares himself to fight.
He grabs his spear and is just about to attack, but hears Jonathan's words just in time and restrains himself. "I hope you have a good idea." |

"Of course I do Ceclit. It is nearly dead so we mearly bash it." He says slyly. "I just don't want to do it in those nasty weeds." He says motioning to the growths with his great sword.

Tabatha shakes her head as she felt the warm tingling sensation, noticing she had the flint still in her hand and her bow in the other with the oil soaked arrow. “Here take this and light the arrow it’s coated with oil.” Tabatha tells the nearest person.

The zombie beast shambles toward you mindlessly, slowed by Ceclit's still-effective spell. It looks like it is in very bad shape now - gobs of rotten flesh are falling off of its body, and it looks just about ready to fall over. "Ngroummmngg," it moans. Notes: It will take the shambling monster another 2 minutes before it gets out of the entangled area, after which it will take it about 3 more minutes before it can actually reach you (of course, any of you can walk around to avoid it or attack it, as all of you (except for Zook) can move faster than the monster can. You can also use missile weapons (or even hurl rocks) at the beast, of course. Also note that although you are all now free to attack and retreat, for example, remember that if you just turn your back and flee from the monster, it will get a free attack on the fleeing PC (with loss of shield AC bonuses, a +2 bonus to attack, and loss of Dexterity AC bonuses, since it is vs. the rear of the PC). If you do not turn and instead withdraw carefully, you may only move at 1/3 speed (the monster can follow if it wants, but other PCs can block it from doing so). Finally, Tabatha: didn't she already light the arrow? Should be ready for firing by now.

Also... The DM (me) made a boo-boo regarding Balinor's number of attacks, so he gets a DM's Boon Card(TM) (otherwise known as Tymora's Temporary Boon) - one chance to reroll any one roll whenever he likes.
Just once, though!(If I find something similar regarding any of the other PCs, they get this as a booby prize as well.) |
