Devlin eyes widen as his reconizes the yelp as one from his own friend. He calls out and orders Lupin to return to him. Not wanting to risk firing into a combat that his friends are engaged in, Devlin turns towards the gate. Another crash breaks the hinges of on side of the door. It won't be long now. To the west, the wall buckles as it is also continually struck. Jonas straggers back, a quill embended in his collar. He tries to pull it out but much like a fish hook, it is barbed. The paladin doesn't let that stop him, however, and attacks but misses. I rolled for you. -1 penalty on attacks, saves, and checks Feeling a holy aura about this enemy, and being the only enemy about, the dog lungs forward again, hoping to tear its enemy apart. Quills trashing about wildly, mere inchs from Jonas' face, the dog strikes. It's teeth clap hard onto the paladins torso but his armour seems to be a bit strong here. However, another quill bypasses the plate armour and piercing into Jonas' under arm. Jonas' takes 4 damage. DC 16 Reflex save. Following the paladin's lead, Valegar charges the dog beast with his massive sword leading. He leaps into the air and bring his mighty sword dog, severing the Howler in half. Valegar stands near the enterance to the tavern. Within, over the crackling of the fire, he can hear a voice speaking in a tounge unknown to him. Four bodies rise in the flame. Two, so burnt and disfigured that bones can be seen on over 60% of his body. Another, alittle more intact, lumbers towards to. At the back, the bartender also stands. He reachs behind him and grabs the greataxe off the wall. Combat map next post. No time right now. |

Devlin
Devlin, waiting near the gate for its inevitable collapse, piles up some cover to hide and fire behind. The ranger readies to arrows for quick firing once something comes through the gate. He whistles for Lupin to join him once he sees him exit the inn.

Hoping his centepede will proove enough of a distraction for his wounded comrad to get himself to safety, Sebastien turned to the North Gate. His arms flailing through the air like a dancer's, he called on yet another feindish monster to help plug the hole that was sure to open up any second now: this time a ferocious wolf with a gaping maw just waiting to sink its teeth into the first foe it see.

__________________It's crude but it'll do. The gate is north and burning. The square building on F7 iis, was the tower. It's destoryed. You're all standing outside the tavern. It is buruing. The building that is also burning was hit by a catapult missile. When enemies die I'll simply remove them from the map. When you lose sight of an enemy I'll remove them from the map. You're represented by your first inital. |

Valegar looks on in horror as the bodies emerge from the flames. "What trickery is this?" He raises his greatsword again and backs up glancing at the buckling walls out of the corner of his eye. The barbarian was bred for combat and never felt more alive than he had whenever his sword was in his hand, but the odds did not favor his newly formed group. So he waited, his head on a swivel watching the advancing tavern patrons and the weakening city walls. It was evident that Valegar was having difficulty gauging which threat was more immenant.
__________________OOC: Valegar has backed up 10' from his current position and has readied an action to attack if the tavern patrons advance upon him. |

Couple of you missed the part where I said "Valegar cuts the hound in half." I'll redirect your attacks towards the undead.
__________________The second quill breaks off and remains embeded in Jonas' underarm. He takes the time to pull free the one in his neck, taking 3 damage but healing himself for 8. The second quill is still within him and Jonas still have -1 to attack, saves and checks. As the four prepare for the coming battle both from the gate, the wall and the tavern, none expect one to come from the window. One of the patrons at the bar comes crashing through the window located just north of the enterance on the west wall. He appears unharmed except for some skortched eyebrows and some cuts from the glass. A blink of the eye later a bolt of lightening follows... The skeletons and zombies lumber forward. As the first clears the threshhold Valegar swings and connects with its chest causing it to explode into a thousand peices. When the first zombie comes lumbering out Sebastien sicks the wolf upon it. The wolf clatchs onto the zombies leg and pulls him to the ground. Prone on its back, the zombie has no defense against the oncoming centepede which grapples with its feelers and also bites into the zombies neck, tears its head from its shoulders. Devlin moves towards the gate and takes cover, preparing for the coming assult. Lupin follows and sits beside him. Another catuplt missile sores above everyones heads and lands in a building far into the city. The gates crash again and buckle. You figure it'll come down within the next six seconds. The wall to the west also cracks and bends. It won't belong before that also comes down. Combat Map |

Devlin
Devlin glances quickly to his companion as he comes running up, checking to see how badly the wolf is injured, hoping that he was just scared and not actually wounded by the zombies in the inn.
__________________CRASH! CRASH! CRASH! comes from the main gate. Sensing that it is about to be smashed in, the ranger nocks one arrow and sights it in on the gate. He holds another arrow in his hand ready to fit and fire as soon as the first one is loosed. The ranger pulls the bowstring back to its maximum draw, hand resting under his chin and holds it waiting. . . . . . After laying the advancing skeleton low, Valegar looks west to the weakening wall and decides once the wall is breached they will be hard pressed to stem the flow of goblinoids. His friends seemed to have things under control at the tavern, so the barbarian sprinted toward the west wall.
__________________OOC: Sorry, I think I'll forego my free attack Braknurr. I don't think it's the wisest decision to send Valegar into the burning tavern. He will instead sprint to square L7 to defend Delvin's sniping position .

Seeing that the gate would soon come down, Sebastien's unending sequence of conjuring is targeted at the gate now. On the ground just in from of the gate which would soon no longer be there he summoned a magical oil slick to slow down anything coming through. "That bottle-neck should become one big traffic jam in no time with this in place!"
__________________Knowing that his summoned monsters wouldn't last much longer on this plane, he ordered them both to the gate aswell so they could do the most good before returning to where they came from. |
