Finally the city guard arrives. Some of the city guards move towards the western wall and await its coming fall but most head for the gate.

The remaining skeleton limps out of the tavern only to be struck by Amandt. A rib cracks but it is otherwise OK. The skeleton punchs back and scores a blow on Amandts chin for 2 damage.
The zombie bartender stands behind the skeleton, a large battleaxe in its hands.

Finally the gate comes down. A large trees smashs through the gates, tearing the hinges off the wall and sending the locked gates swinging out like one large door. Before the ram is even pulled back the orcs and goblins rush in. The first, an orc, has his head ripped off by one of Devlins arrows. A goblin right beside him also feels the bite of an arrow as Devlins second digs deeping into his chest. The two fall away, lost in the bodies that follow. Over a dozen orcs and goblins can be seen trying to push into the city. The next three fall, their feet pulled out from under them by their own momentum due to the grease. The flow of orcs and goblins seem halted for the time by three slip by the grease by using their fallen comrads as stepping stones. One orc charges Valegar and swings a large mace, scoring a hit on the barbarians shoulder for 5 damage and another on of the guards. A goblin also slips by and goes for a guard.
Sebastien's wolf bites into one of the prone orcs and the centepede crawls onto a prone goblin, tearing its head from its body much like it did to the zombie. Seeing the power of the centepede the orc's behind the line attack it. Two orc's score a hit on the centepede and kill it. Another goblin attacks the wolf and stabs it in the side for 4 damage.
Behind the body of orcs and goblins three minotaurs can be seen. One carries a huge sword, one a huge mace, and another a huge axe.
Over the sounds of battle like a voice in the thunder and cry is heard, "The time of freedom is coming to an end! All those who do not bow will fall and their ashes will make way for the reign of Braknurr!"

The guys with swords are town guard. The guys with flails are orcs and the guys with daggers are goblins. Any questions??

Sebastien's courage is quickly fading as the tide begins to come in. Unless something amazing happens, the best he can do is slow them down. Nothing in his reserve of spells and tricks could stop this. "If only Professor Cornelius hadn't been called away on a special mission. He could put this whole army in its place in no time! Oh but wishing isn't going to get me out of this. Think man think!"

He needed to buy some time, so he removed a scroll from the round leather canister hanging from his neck. It quickly became soggy from the rain, but he read it regardless unlocking the scroll's magic. To rush of gale force winds flew like an arrow from his outstretched hands to halt the monsters' advance.

"I think we need a change of tatcis everybody! This isn't looking too promising!"
"How did this happen? How did this ambush come out of no where? Doesn't this town have scouts or look outs? Something beyond our seeing contributed to this battle. No doubt in my mind."

Devlin

The gate finally crashes in, as the hordes outside of it drive a tree trunk through it. As the first of the hordes pour through the ranger lets fly with an arrow, it strikes an orc in the face dropping his imstantly. As he is letting go of the first arrow, another is being readied to fire. It flies and finds its mark deep in a goblins chest killing it too.

Devlin quickly picks up another arrow from a bunch he laid on the rock infront of him and nocks it. He takes aim on the lead orc at the gate and fires. As the first arrow clears the bow another arrow is loaded and fired at the goblin standing next to said orc.

Lupin stands ready next to Devlin, ready to leap to his friends defense should an orc or goblin get too close.

Wanting to fight the orcs and undead unhandicapped, David takes another action to remove the last quill (move action) and then turns his attention to the undead in the remains of the tavern, "I couldn't save your lives, but I can at least promise peace in death.", he says as he holds his holy symbol out in front of him, which explodes with light as he mutters a prayer to Kord.

Amandt; HP 26/28, AP 10/10, RP 28/28, AC 18

With the crashing of the gate, Amandt turns to join the coming battle, seeing the newcomers as a greater threat than the charred remains of the bar. As he turns he tries to train his eye on the best target.

Valegar's eyes widen in rage as the orc stabs at him with his sword. Driven by rage and battle lust, the barbarian let's out a warcry and swings his greatsword mightily at the orcs chest.

OOC: Valegar is starting his rage this round.

Sebastien moves forward and stands just behind Devlin, removes a scroll from a contain around his neck and reads aloud. The winds pick up and blast into the goblin horde. The two orcs in the line of the gust raise their arms defensivly but otherwise remain where they are. The wolf summoned by the summoner bites into the orc which has stab it but its teeth meet only the wood of a shield.

Devlin fires off to more rounds, the first striking the orc that has a wolf latched onto it's arm and killing it. The second, however, strikes chunks of stone from the fallen tower.
Why do you have +10 to attack again? I can't add it up.

The orc engaged with Valegar spins in a full circle, bring his mace around and swings it at the barbarians head. Valegar is able to duck below the attack just in time to save his head. Orcs and goblins all about swing and stab. The guards engaged on the left seem to be holding their own; trading blow for blow. A few cry out but just as many orc's cry out as well.

Meanwhile, Jonas continues with the undead. After pulling out the remaining quill and some skin along with it (2 damage), he raises his holy symbol and blasts a ray of light onto the skeleton and hte zombie. The skeleton turns to flee only to run into the chest of the bartender zombie. Cowering like a lost child, the skeleton stands there, helpless, until the zombie raises its greataxe and smashs it to bits.

Valegar ducks the swing of the order and returns with a vengance. He slices upwards, catching the orc in the under arm and cutting across. The orcs arm goes limp and the blood drains from its face as it falls away.

A lone goblin slips past the ranks and charges down on Valegar's position. It wilds a rusty looking longsword and manages to slip it past the barbarians defences and stabbing him for 6 damage.

Although effected by the wind, the orc at the head of the line is still able to attack. With the help of an orc not effected by the wind they blow strike out at the wolf summoned by Sebastien and manage to kill it.

Amandt moves towards the gate.

"All these spells are working alright by themselves, but I think I need to do something that's not as easy to get rid of."

"Mr. Devlin! Try and keep them away from me!"

And that was the last thing Sebastien said before going into his trance, chanting something under breath that must have been near impossible to hear over the rain storm and the ragin battle. As he chanted, small lights started to pop all around the gate's enterence. At first it seemed like it did nothing, but soon it was apparent that each light was a poisonous spider coming into existance. Before too long, there were hundreds or even thousands of them crawling all over the orcs and goblins biting them in all places.

Devlin, snatches up the arrows laying in front of him and hops up onto one of the rocks infront of him (5' move (free) 7-J).He takes aim upon the two orcs standing in the gate entrance. Pulling the bow back he lets the arrow fly, quickly reloading another shot. He fires at the other orc at the gate.

Running to the aid of Valegar, Amandt lays into the goblin with a sliding roundhouse as he comes to a stop at his side. I don't know much about magics, but could the person willingly standing aflame be in comand of this confrontation!?

Valegar, AC 16, Hp 43/48, AP 7/7, RP 48/48, Raging (4 rounds left)

Valegar shrugs off the goblins weak attack and continues to focus on the wounded orc. Although Valegar was intensely involved in battle, he did hear Amandt's comment. Could it be? Is that creature the key? Determined to find out, Valegar intensifies his attack wanting to end this skirmish with the goblin and orc quickly.

OOC: Man, I must be off today. I noticed the orc is no longer on the combat map. Just use the goblin attack for this round. Also, I noticed I miscalculated my rage duration. I actually should have 2 additional rounds because it is calculated as 3 rounds + raged constitution modifier. So please note, that I have 6 rounds remaining. Sorry for the mistakes and the triple post Braknurr. I'll try to pay more attention next time.
