Hey, Ravenwind good to see you delurk. Another old friend that wanted to read along.
O.k., everyone here is what I am planning as a tie in of the character backgrounds based on some of what we have discussed. Let me know what you think and if you have any changes. Thanks. I am hoping to post the first game post Sunday night or Monday morning so stay tuned for that as well. Craven and Draxu have known each other for most of their lives, or at least have known off each other. Having grown up near the Deep, Draxu had often heard of Craven and the Finder’s Keepers. Many of the neighborhood kids of Draxu’s age had grown up idolizing the group of almost swashbuckling renegades and would hang around them hoping to one day gain admittance to the group. Such was much of Draxu’s time spent, trying to learn from Craven and his pals as they made their living stealing and scamming all that they could. And it was also because of Craven’s eventual capture that lead Draxu away from that life to one of service under Angrim the stable masters eventual hand. The two have reconnected somewhat since Craven’s return; having been sent to run occasional jobs for Poku where Draxu is a frequent visitor. Draxu has even assisted in a few. It was also during this time that Gaius and Craven had also come to know one another. Gaius had been stationed in the district and it didn’t take long for him to discover the work of Craven and his Finders Keepers. But he also recognized them for what they were. A group of kids that were just trying to make a living for themselves in the hard city and not the ruthless cutthroats that most of the other gangs of the district represented. As such Gaius kind of looked after Craven as a big brother would, not that Craven really appreciated it at the time. He would warn him to stay out of trouble and the consequences of his lifestyle. He encouraged him to find other uses for his talents and even tried to land him jobs in the workman’s district. But Craven had been too young and brash to listen. As such, his eventual capture by a No’Mos security force was no surprise to Gaius. By the time Craven did return to the city, Gaius’ position had become the unofficial one that it was today and, although they wouldn’t be considered friends, the two had grown to have a mutual respect for one another. They were even to the point where they would share a drink and help each other out with the exchange of information about the Deep and current events. Gaius’ relationship with Sortcha was a much newer one. A recent arrival to Divendale, the young pretty girl quickly found out how dangerous the big city could be when she found herself at the other end of a knife point, having stumbled into the wrong section of town. However, it was the thugs that learned the much more fatal lesson that everything is not as it seems and had their lives ended under the blaze and sparks of the arcane. But Sortcha had been badly injured in the encounter and only just managed to drag herself to the Drunk Duck Tavern where Gaius happened to be having a drink. Gaius acted quickly and thus saved her life, bringing her to Jebeddo for healing. The unlikely duo of beauty and beast became fast friends in the following days, with Gaius being very protective of his charge and Sortcha finding a sense of security in the muscle bound Dworc’s presence. Sortcha’s time in the city was mostly spent studying and researching the rare spell components that Harulden had tasked her to find and was as such that she happened into Poku’s shop and met Draxu. As a rumored purveyor in certain “specialty items” it was almost inevitable that Sortcha’s research would lead her to the shop. And having been a veritable mainstay at Poku’s shop in recent months it was also inevitable that Sortcha would met Draxu at the fortune teller’s store. In short time the two discovered their arcane connection. Sortcha was soon mesmerized by the Sorcerer’s preaching on the necessity of arcane freedoms and Draxu found comfort in the fact that she shared his view on the intoxicating like effects of the arcane. The two soon became friends and would often debate the best path to a rise of power. The newest of Gaius’ “projects” is the strange Teukh, who had recently just appeared in the impoverished district of the city. Having been tasked with finding a connection to the world outside the grove, Teukh had come to Divendale where he also connected with his newest friend Ubris. But the civilized world was still a mystery to him, and thus thought nothing of the shipment of stuffa that he witnessed arrive. The gang members that spotted him felt differently however and Teukh soon found himself in trouble. By chance, Gaius happened upon the encounter and helped the fellow Dworc escape. Since then, Teukh has felt an obligation to Gaius for saving his life and also looks upon him as a role model to study of how one can fit in with those that are so different around him. It is also through this connection that Craven has discovered how useful Teukh can be as an extra pair of eyes and ears on the street, even if he doesn’t always understand the meaning of what he sees. |

Ok I absolutely love this combining of lives you have put together. I'm also pretty glad Finders Keeper's ended up being a slightly more powerful group than I had envisioned. Everything definately sounds good to me.

Whew, ok I am about to post the game thread. The intro is rather long but understand that it is an intro. Not every post of mine is going to be this long and I certainly don't expect you all to post like that. Just don't want anyone to think that this is what is expected. There was just alot of info that I needed to put into your hands and feel the intro post is the best place to do it.
Anyways, enjoy! |
