Call it what it is, she tells herself in a less than pleasant tone. Cowardice. "The Halls, eh?" she says finally. " 'k. Let's go." |

"It is settled then, let us depart." Jonathan says authoritively. He then rises from the table and adjusts his greatsword. "Sir Jelde we are in dept to your hospitality and we will be happy yo return in kind." He bows slightly to Jelde and then to Relthaum before leaving the room.

After saying goodbye to Jelde, Myrkyr, and Relthaum, the party follows Jelde's directions north, near where you found the old skeleton, but on the opposite side of Starwater Gorge (and the river). Soon, you reach a weathered, dark-gray rockface with many cracks and fissures, covered with a thick growth of shrubs, making it somewhat hard to make out the entrance to the Halls. The ground here is made of solid stone, so you cannot make out any tracks of any sort. Taking a closer look, you note two very large fissures, both of which seem to lead to caves going inside - perhaps possible entrances to the Halls. The northernmost entrance looks a bit smoother than the southernmost entrance, which seems slightly rough. Which entrance will you enter? If you like, your PCs can each "vote" - i.e. each PC giving his or her opinion, with the end result of the party following the majority; either way, just role-play it however you like.

After taking a minute to study both entrances Ceclit says, "We should take the rough path, if there is a cult in there it makes sense for them to use the smoother entrance. I would also bet that it's better guarded. And nobody in their right mind would go through the more dangerous looking one-which is exactly why we should."

"That may be the exact reason not to. If you are afraid of confronting the cult then we should take the smoother path. Scince most cults try to shy away from heavily trafficed areas. On the other hand I am for going down the rough path, I for one am not afraid of the cultists." Jonathan says pondering their decision.

“Well I have to admit both of you make good sense.” Tabatha tells Ceclit and Jonathan. “I know that you don’t fear the cult but what if there numbers are to many for us to handle. I think Ceclit is trying to get at that the element of surprise will be at are advantage. Then charging head long into what could be to certain doom.” Tabatha looks at both men waiting for any of the others to speak up.

"Suprise is never a bad thing. I just want to be sure we choose one path or the other for the right reasons." Jonathan remarks.

Well, only three have posted so far, but the rough path it is, then!
The party enters the southernmost entrance, moving westwards into the cave. The dark passage is rather rough and unworked, and smells rank and musty. The dirt floor is completely covered with layers of gnawed bone pieces, stones, and other rubble. After moving into the cave for about 30 feet, the passage divides into a southern and northern passage. The southern passage seems slightly narrower than the northern passage. I am assuming that someone has a torch? (Let me know who has their torch out.)

Ceclit takes one of the bone fragments in his hand and tries to determine what the teeth marks were made by.
"I'm not sure which way to go: the smaller path may hinder our fighting ability, but the wider path may have larger enemies." |

Tabatha lights a torch and hands it to Jonathan. Then she pulls out her bow and readies an arrow. "My vision will help me out, I figure if I go in with my bow ready and you can follow me with the torch. That way I can get an arrow off, then you can get up close and personal with them. Just a idea"

Balinor looks down at Jonathan " Cultists? Pfffftt" he motions neglegently at the cave entrance "Bring 'em on! I prefer a straight fight to all this sneakin' around! "

Jonathan nods at Tabatha and takes the torch. "I will be sure to toss it near the ground if fighting begins because the even hand of Torm will wish to aid in the battle."

Balinor slowly draws a blade with a grim expression. "Now you're talking lad! Let's go." With that, he sets off determinedly.

Tabatha enters the cave, smelling the dampness in the air about her. The temperature seemed to go down as she entered the cave. Tabatha stops and lets her vision adjust to her surroundings. I guess having elvish blood has its advantages, Tabatha thought to herself.

Jonathan walks slowly down the path with his torch in hand. Lighting their way as they walk.
