Magebred animals

Magebred is a template (ECS) that can be applied to anything with the animal type. From the way I'm reading it, it doesn't cause a level or HD adjustment. My question comes when an animal is turned to an undead (specifically skeleton). I can't decide for sure whether the template would carry over. My arguement for it is that there is no rule to the contrary. The magebred template does say that it must be applied to an animal type however 1) the undead was created from that same animal and 2) it still maintains that types descriptor (humanoid for a normal run of the mill skeleton). Your thoughts?

Edit: Also, the skeleton 'template' in the MM does not say anything about a creature loosing its previous templates, only class levels.

I'd say it maintains any that apply. Certain undead, for instance, may not be able to smell thus negating any bonus they'd have.

But really, there's no magic involved here, it's just an expertly bred animal. Think of it like a masterwork animal.

Id say it crossed over. Wouldnt be a undead animal then? Cause I thought the skeleton/zombie template simpkly "added" undead subtype... not removed the original.

Plus should be allowed... someone I know made a Fiendish Skeleton Hellhound... *shivers*

Did anyone else have an image of a crazed ranger dual weilding squirrels?

Chocolate milk coes from brown coloured cows. Strawberry milk comes from pink cows. Master worked studded leather comes from master worked studded cows. Hmmm....

It's Kung Pao. And in that movie he also used gopher-chucks.
There's your monk/ranger hybrid right there.

I don't know. The enhancement bonus from the cow's masterwork property wouldn't stack with the enhancement bonus from the masterwork sling. You'd be better off just throwing the heiffer. Like Chosen One did.

Kung Pow, not Pao. :P But still a highly retarded movie. (Still entertaining, yes. But stupid.)

I've never even heard of a magebred animal. When I saw it the first thing I thought was an animal that was modified with magic, like given a permanent magical bite, or a shocking bite as the shocking grasp spell. What does it really do?

Increase one physical stat by 4, the other two by 2. It learns a few new tricks, gains a bonus feat (alertness, endurance, run, or something else), and then gets a "special ability" which is stuff like +10' to their speed, or a larger racial bonus to tracking, or can drag more weight.
It's all perfectly natural stuff, just what you'd consider the difference between a champion show animal and a common one.

And yes, I know it's "pow" I was just hungry at the time. I actually own the movie, and it is, in fact, terrible. I mightn't have watched it alone, but I was with a friend, and we stuck through it to see which of us could stand the most of it. Watched every special feature on there, including watching it through again with commentary, and then through again in French.

It was a sad time.
