Ok. I'll be brief and move things along.....
__________________The rest of this day is spent travelling to the coachouse, then to the old church and then back to the coachouse. There has been no activity in either location since anyone last visited. The old church remains deserted and broken and even the party ranger spots no sign of recenet trespass. Likewise, the soldier who guard the tiny hammlet of coachhouse report nothing of interest. Do you show the map to Captain Mallory of the Pelan Army? Do you make a copy for Orm's group? |

"I've got a copy of the map I made, I can leave that with Dorothy to give to Orm. I'm sure she will do that for us. I guess the real question is ...do we let the captain know about this as well? He is the local authority in the area, and this may be helpful to him. Then again, there is something I don't trust about this whole situation. Heck, how the gnolls even got that map to begin with... who knows the whole thing might be an elaborate trap that is being set.. What do the rest of you think?" |

I say we keep it to ourselves besides informing Orm. At least until we get a better picture of the overall situation.

"I would leave a copy of this map for Orm and the Captain Mallory. Our enemies are growing in strength and we have few allies. If the Captain can't be trusted with our knowledge then he can't be trusted to occupy the Coachouse in the first place. If that's the case, then all these people are doomed anyway. Caution and suspicion are valuable weapons in our fight. But they are a two-edged swords, capable of wounding the wielder just as badly as the enemy. We should be forging alliances." Cain will try to learn of any word from the soldiers stationed in Thanedor. Is the village still unharmed? |

Abban shrugs. "Cain's got a point. Got nothin to lose by showing the map to the captain at this point. Maybe he helps out and sends men, maybe he doesn't. Can't hurt us though. I doubt he's got much interest in some dead general or his stuff, but "bugbear camp" might be interesting to him." |

Taking out a quill and paper, the scholar starts to make a copy of the map for the good captain. While he marks all the places, he omits to add the name of tomb, leaving it just marked up using symbols for tombs or graveyards. "Okay people, we have one copy for Orm and one for the captain. Lets go and drop them off. Then where to? The tomb?" |

"I'm up for a visit to the old general's tomb Ilmanyal. We could travel by the old road."

OOC- just so you know, the doors at the tomb need a much higher level cleric to open them. Assume the party has deduced this.
__________________Captain Mallory nods in gratitude upon recieving his copy of the map. "I'm sure one day that your loyalty to the empire will be repayed. You are fine citizens!" He studies the map for a while before saying. "I will send scouts to these locations to garner further idea of the enemy's strength. Then perhaps we could form a joint assault..." |

"General's tomb sounds good to me as well." says Abban. "Seems like that's where we might find something important, anyway."

"We will go and scout out the graveyard, and report back on what we find, Captain." offers the young scholar, pleased as punch to be called a fine citizen. "And yes, Abban, lets take the old road. Who knows we might even run into some of those eagles...." If we have some time, Ilmanyal will buy dinner for Dorothey and try to get the low down on how the soliders have been behaving along with news of anyone else passing through the hamlet. Lastly he will leave Orms copy of the map with her. |

Argonath smiles at Ilamnyal seeing him so happy though himself isn't that happy. They got an important mission to finish, which involves the whole territory and a lot of danger for themselves. He says to Captain
__________________"Captain It seems those bastards are barefaced! We run upon some gnolls which take part in this thing. We killed 8-9 of them. Then a crow came leaving us a message warning us that they will kill 12 women as payback. He warned us next time it will be children...Please take care not to be seen or engage the enemy at this point!" Then he turns on the rest of the party and says "I too believe that the most interesting of those places is the general's tomb, but I believe it will be the most heavy guarded place of all. We must keep that in mind before we choose any target!" OOC:I assume we spend the night here, ight guys? Gazz is there any possibility Argo could find a mithral chain shirt at the Coachhouse(1100gp)? If not, what time is it? Could he travel to Delanica to buy it and return today? He would also want to buy 2 potions of healing(100gp), a blanket and 3 trail rations(2gp). He has also a light crossbow and his studded leather armor for sale and perhaps that longbow if there is available a MW composite longbow with 2 strength rating(600gp). |

The Captain seems genuinely upset and angry about what was written on the crow's letter. "If we can not take out the minions, we must strike at the heart of the foe. I will allocate five of my men to travel with you to this tomb. I too feel that we will find our answers there."
__________________Nobody has heard anything back from Orm or his group. Whether Dorothy has time to dine with Illamnyal depends very much upon when the party leaves. If they leave in the morning, there will be plenty of time for wining and dining. Last edited by gazzaverage; 09-14-2006 at 08:46 AM. |
