"Yeah I would prefer a bed here than a night in the shadows of the Old Road. I agree with Carl, we should stay silent with our plans for tommorow."

Abban nods towards the captain, "Thank you for the men, sir. We'll meet up with you in the morning."
__________________Turning to the rest of the group, he says "I agree with Cain here, this seems safer, as long as we all keep quiet, right?" With that, he leaves to unload his gear, eventually returning to pick thorugh some of the odds and ends offerred by the merchants. [ooc- nothing fancy- some lantern oil, rations, arrows, a blanket...common stuff] As Abban shuffles back and forth, making his purchases, he looks anxious. Cain visibly relaxes back at the hamlet. He buys 5 trail rations before getting dinner at the Coachouse. Afterwards he takes some dried meat and hides it in different spots outside the hamlet. Bringing his dog Boer into the open air for more training, he motions for the rottwieler to search each various stand of trees. The dog becomes exited at the second night of search training, faithfully sniffing out the areas Cain points at.
__________________After a few hours Cain returns to the inn and gathers the crew for a meeting in his room before turning in for the night. Looking around at everyone present the cleric takes a deep breath and addreses the group. "We ride into a dangerous region tommorow. Captain Mallory's soldiers will take us from a party of nine to a party of 14. That will give us an edge but we must strike skillfully with it. As we get closer to the tomb, we should send scouts ahead to learn the terrain. We may be spending another night or two under the cold stars so be sure to pack blankets." The cleric's eyes flicker over to the scholar. "If we confront any of the Black Eagles or goblinoids, ideally we prevent any from escaping to warn of our presence. Argonath your entangle spell might easily come in handy again as well as your hunting skills. The more we know about our enemies the better our combat plans can be. Obviously maximizing our individual strengths would be best. Marcus, you and Doderic have been silent about our plans recently. Will you continue on with the party? To be flexible and agile in their territory I think we need to choose one person to lead the party. We cannot hope to combat Delen, Dorien, their master and their minions without some strong organization. I would rather throw my lot with Abban. He has shown strength and dicipline in the search for our enemies. He also listens to everyone's council before coming to his own conclusions. It is a dangerous plan we embark on and we need all our wits about us. But we also need a decisive leader to unify us and make us effective in the field. Lets choose someone to head up the next leg of our journey. Abban if you are willing to carry the load, I'd be happy to follow your lead."Cain looks at Abban then at each person in the room, waiting for their reactions. Argonath has been silent lately. That's because it seems the whole situation gets more complicated. He says
__________________"I've been thinking...Now that we take those soldiers with us does it mean that WE are actually under the authority of captain Mallory? There is a chance someone else is taking the decisions tomorrow...Let's hope we can work it out with these guys! Anyway I don't mind who is in charge of this force since I believe everybody here has something valuable to offer! Let's hope we are well prepared to deal what's coming! We might actually run upon Delen or Dorien or both..." He then stops and waits for others to reply |

[Ilmanyal]
"I certainly am looking forwards to an evening of rest without the worry of wyverns, dragons or giant snakes in the night. The captain has offered us his soliders, but that doesn't put us any more under his command than we are already. I imagine there will be a sergent or someone similar to ensure the soliders don't do anything that would, ahh, put the situation into any more dangerous a.. well, make it worse than it is." While at the coachouse, Ilmanyal stocks up on food, and purchases a set of cold weather clothing, and a warm bedroll. |

33rd of High suns. One hour after dawn
The sky is ominously gloomy as everyone assembles outside the coach house although there is no rain just yet.
__________________As promised, five burly soldiers equiped with chainmail, shortswords, tower shields and javelins await the group. Cain feels a little more with it after getting out of bed and saying his morning prayers. The sky matches my mood this morning.
__________________"Looks to be the makings of a beatiful day friends." Cain says sarcastically walking over to introduce himself to the imperial soldiers. "I'm Cain, humble priest of Heironeous. Good to have you with us. The Captain wouldn't have any tents available for our journey would he? I'd hate to spend a night out in the freezing rain!" Cain begins securing the saddle on his warhorse. OOC- I feel the love! Last edited by Malkier; 09-15-2006 at 10:39 PM. |

[Ilmanyal]
With a fairwell wave to Dorothy as she heads off to her tasks, Ilmanyal does his best to emulate the actions of Cain, albeit in a somewhat more uncertain manner. "Oh, Tents, thats a good idea. Maybe I should buy one of those as well." Before heading off, he seeks out the captain to ask "Sir, Captain, ahh, have any of your other scouts reported back in with information about the enemy and the lands around here? Is there anything else you know of that we should be wary of?" |

After a good night's sleep Argonath wakes up fully refreshed. As soon as he washes his face and hands he finds a quiet spot under a tree and prays in favor of Ehlonna. After he finishes his praying he takes a look at the sky worried about the weather. He isn't sure about his spellcasting and besides rain will slow them down and hinder visibility. Only good thing is that enemy's troops will have the same problems as well...Then he goes and readies his gear. When everything is ready he meets the rest and while chewing hastily his breakfast he listens the conversation going on. At the time he finishes his breakfast he says addressing to the whole party
__________________"Good morning everyone!" Then he turns over the soldiers and adds "For those who don't know me my name is Argonath and I will be your scout for this mission! Hope my skills prevent any casualties though this mission is very dangerous...The enemy is powerfull and well informed of what's going on in the territory! Thus we must be really carefull, so keep your eyes and ears open all the way! " |

Gunther also takes the time to invest in a sturdy bedroll and a tent, before going to sleep.
__________________In the morning, he wakes up and says his morning prayers to St. Cuthbert. Then he retrieves his horse and joins the others in front of the inn. "Hello, I am Gunther, Cleric of Standing in the church of St. Cuthbert. I am glad that I took the opportunity to invest in this scroll before I left Delanica, if we are to be facing undead again." |

Carll heads to bed early after preparing his gear for the next day's journey. He arises early and eats a sparse breakfast and awaits the order to move out patiently.

The Imperial soldiers are not exactly full of conversation, but nod politely as the party make thier introductions. They assist eachother in the donning of heavy looking backpacks as one of them turns to face Cain.
__________________"I'm sure the Captain'll be able to supply you with a tent, but we aint no porters mate...you'll all have to carry yer own!" Meanwhile, Illamnyal talks to Captain Mallory who informs him that the woods have not yet been scouted by his men. |

Quote:
The cleric asks Captain Mallory for some tents to take on their trip. I imagine we'd have to wait a couple hours for the merchants to open shop to buy any. Strapping the tent to his saddlebags, Cain mounts up ready to ride. |
