PLACES IN THE NEW WORLD

The Midlands- It is the land between D'Hara and Westland that is filled with magic. It is made up of many sovern kingdoms joined together very loosly for protection.

--Aydindril- The greatest city in the midlands and home to the Confessor's Palace and the Wizard's keep

Westland- It is to the west of the Midlands. When the boundary between Westland and the Midlands went up, there was NO magic in Westland.

--Hartland- This is the central city in Westland. It is also where the First councilor, sort of the president, lives. Every other town or city has an elected councilor to serve on the council.

D'Hara- The mysterious land to the east of the Midlands. It is controlled, for the most part, for over 3000 by the House of Rahl. Rahl is the ruling wizard. There is always 1 gifted Rahl serving as the Master Rahl.

--The People's Palace- This is the seat of power for the house of Rahl. It is a massive city which is build in the form of a spell to strengthen any Rahl's magic.

Aydindril: The Seat of Power in the Midlands

It is a loose knit group of kingdoms that are independent but submit to the appointed Central Council. People bring grievances to the Central Council when issues deal with other kingdoms. The Central Council is located in a city called Adyndrill. This is also the home of the Confessors Palace and the Wizard’s keep.

-This is a land of magic. Magic is governed and protected by the wizards in the Wizard’s keep. There are many different types of magical creatures located here and also in D’hara. As of right now, there are only 7 wizard students and the great Wizard. There are other types of magic users to be sure like warlocks, witches, sorceresses and others who dabble in the art.

-The Central Council is made up of people appointed from representatives of the different lands. The large kingdoms like Kelten and Galea always have a member on the council. This is a lot like the United Nations Security Council.

-The Mother Confessor is the head of the council. She is a neutral party but also represents the lands that do not have a representative in Adyndrill. She has magic power and for this is feared. All confessors have power to destroy an individual hence nobody attempts to go against their word. They don’t try to rule…only to keep the peace.

-The wizards in the Midlands do not rule like in D’hara but instead advise the Mother Confessor and the Central Council on matters of magic. They also protect the confessors when they are away from Adyndrill.

-The great wizard came to the aid of the Midlands over 20 years before when Panis Rahl bought the might of D’hara against them. With the aid of his magic they were able to turn Rahl back. Seeing that an invasion of D’hara would be too costly, the great wizard created the boundaries to keep D’hara from invading again. Before he could put it up, Rahl sent a Quad after the wizard’s wife and child. They were both murdered. A few years after the boundaries went up, the great wizard argued with the Central Council about the handling of certain magic items and the naming of a post only a wizard should name. His seven students sided with the Council in their greed. He was so furious that he said his wife and daughter died for nothing and that he would do the worst thing possible. He would leave them to live and die by their own greed. He cast a wizard’s web that hid his name and identity from all….and disappeared. His current whereabouts are unknown.

Ebinessia: The Capital of Galea

Galea is one of the largest kingdoms in the Midlands. They are ruled by Queen Mellanna and the crown prince Captain Raford. The kingdom has always pushed to keep the power in the hands of the Central Council and thus...in the hands of the Confessors (neutral). Keltan is their greatest enemy and the one that has to be watched like a hawk. To Keltans, weakness is an invitation to invade. However, because of the power Confessors wield they stay their sword.

The People's Palace: Seat of Power in D'Hara

D'Hara

This is the eastern most land. It is ruled by the House of Rahl. Over the centuries D’hara has invaded the Midlands only to be turned back each time. This was the main reason why the boundaries were put up. D’hara is steeped in traditions and magic. The house of Rahl is actually a line of Wizards that have ruled D’hara for 3000 years. There is only one Lord Rahl that the people are ‘bonded’ to at any one time. For the most part D’hara is a land of mystery as it has been locked away for 21 years by the boundary. People only speak of it in hushed whispers or as a way to scare children into behaving.

The Boundary

-The Boundary: This is a magic barrier. It was created by the great wizard with the use of magic. It is a place where the world of the living and the world of the dead are in the same place. To step into the boundary was death. It is said that if you do so, you forfeit your soul. The boundaries for the most part were placed on mountain ranges. They cover the land and also extend out unlimited into the sea as far as anyone knows. People have attempted to find the edge by ship but never returned.

Until recently, there were three boundries in total. One massive one separated the Old World from the New World. There is another between D'Hara and The Midlands and another between The Midlands and Westland.

The two boundries located in the New World were created by the great wizard. The first was to seal off Panis Rahl and his horde from D'Hara. The second was to create a separate place where those who wished to live without magic could.

Westland:Land with no Magic

This is a land set apart by the great wizard for those who wished to live with magic in their lives. All magic was removed and then the boundary was created. Westland is very much like how you would imagine America would have been if it had a medieval time. The capital is a city called Hartland. The leader of the land is called First Councilor and is sort of like a president. He is appointed among the councilors who represent the various communities in Westland.
