Jerrod didn't like this one bit. He felt he was being set up.
__________________Well, it would appear that we have no choice but to go. he said cautiously. Can we keep in contact with you here in case we run into trouble? Oh and when you see her, give this to Evelina with my thanks. He said handing the mage Evelina's black cloak. Right. I'm off to see who will buy this hammer off me. We might as well get some shopping in before we sail off. He thanked the mage before making his way to the door Last edited by Conrad Windspear; 03-20-2007 at 10:19 PM. |

Koric looks to the mage and says Thank you for your help. I agree with Jerrod, We should get what we need before setting out. Koric follows Jerrod out.

Ken looks at the Mage, then at the others, then back at the Mage, "But wait we could...oh, I guess we're leaving then, well ok." Those who are very close to him can hear him whisper under his breath, "Hsss...shut...bec...not going...that."

Benjamin nods and accepts the cloak and then returns to his quarters. A page is waiting outside to guide you back to the streets.
__________________Once outside, you notice that activity in town is picking up rather quickly. Several peddlers hassle you with offers of cheap knick-knacks and even a shoddy-looking water clock, but one of them seems to be beckoning you earnestly to a shadowy corner. A closer look reveals military garb under the drab brown merchant's outfit. |

Carefully beating away all beggars and peddlers, but keeping a tight eye on them, Jezar recognizes the man's inner garb and unobtrusively motions for the others to follow the undercover soldier. He himself also follows the soldier, but remains ever aware of his surroundings.

Jerrod noticed the guard uniform. Guards, especially those in disguise are not necessarily a good thing. He recalled the corrupt earl's guards bullying the population of his hometown. He had grown to distrust the rule of law when it works in the shadows - accordingly he picked a couple arrows from his quiver as he followed Jezar

Ken walked along with the group, flexing and moving his reattached arm, as if not sure that it was really correctly attached. He watches the guard carefully, wondering what the man could want.

Jezar drops back a bit, and whispers to his fellows: "Not like the mages were of much assistance, I hope we might have more luch here."

The short "peddler" gathers you into the alley and looks both ways before removing his hood to reveal a sharply trimmed beard and a thin mustache, as well as piercing brown eyes. He takes a good look at the group and then gets right to the point. "Let me guess...the foolish mage gave you little assistance? Well, I can offer you a bit a help. Benjamin was right when 'e said the military wouldna help ya...but only partially right. There are...elements...of the governmental garrison that are interested in these weapons and what they could do. I have information about the ruins up north and payment which doubles what Ben off'red. Your part will be to allow us to study the tools once you finish your mission...whatever it may be. You also must stay completely silent about our deal...others in the military wouldna look kindly upon this little 'transaction' of ours. What do you say?"

Having the same kind of attitude towards the army as this fellow appears to have, he gets downright chummy with him. "Right to the point, that's how we like it! Which -tools- are you talking about? You mean our weaponry?"

The man nods in response to Jezar's question.

Koric listens to his comrads but says nothing. "We would have no idea if this man and anyone else for that matter are working for the deamons who wish to take these...they may give their weapons..but mine stays where it is." Koric thinks to himself as he waits in silence.
